Alberts Cafe — Restaurant in Stafford

Myself and my husband have had awful experiences pretty much every time we've been here. I ordered some toast the one time, waited half an hour, nothing came, husband went up to the counter, had to wait in a queue to ask where my toast was, only for the server to look at him blankly and say 'I haven't had an order for toast through' when it was actually him who took the order! Then to say there was no food left at all and annoyingly refund us in change rather than on card. Last time I went with a friend, they took my friend's order then acted like I was invisible. The THREE young ladies behind the counter just stood there doing nothing or idly wiping up whilst I waited in disbelief and eventually said 'can I order a drink please?'. This cafe was recommended to me for lunch by a station employee. The setting is nice but wasn’t impressed with the food menu. I ordered a roll and bacon and a cup of tea. The tea arrived first in disposable cup with tea bag still in it. I had to go to counter to ask for milk, no stirrer or napkin provided. The bacon roll came as a white bread bacon sandwich, no apology or explanation..It was really disappointing as the bacon was very dry and crispy, might have been better with some butter or spread on the bread. I probably should have sat outside as there was a dog barking inside the cafe so all in all not a great visit. £7.25 for a dry bacon sandwich and a cup of tea isn’t that cheap, I’d have been better buying a meal deal at...

The best afternoon tea I have ever had, a friendly welcome & good service the afternoon tea was made fresh we were given our prosecco then a big pot of tea & a good sized pot of milk then the afternoon tea arrived the sandwiches we had were smoked salmon cream cheese,cheese & salad,ham & salad, cucumber & cream cheese all fresh as can be & generously filled really delicious then there were an assortment of macaroons, cheese cake, chocolate fudge cake, chocolate cake with cream & I can only describe as the jam out of wagon wheels mmm,long donuts with jam & cream, sponge cake then four scones with tiptree strawberry jam & rhoddas clotted cream also prosecco & tea & milk top ups we really enjoyed it thank you...
