We came in for dinner as a party of 20 people and our experience was so terrible that we left before even ordering drinks or food. Yes it was that bad. The staff were discriminatory, rude and completely lacked empathy for a vulnerable person who was clearly in need of support. We were shocked and disgusted.
I have edited this review in response to the manager’s reply:
Yeah I get it that them’s the rules. No U18s after 8pm. I’m not disputing those. I know how tight licensing laws are and I know how strictly they are forced upon establishments. But this was literally a NEWBORN BABY!. So fresh and new that she is still a part of her mother’s body. It was the first outing for mother and baby since the birth and when we arrived, we just needed somewhere for them to go to quickly change a her nappy and then rethink the whole situation and decide where to go next with our party of 20 people. The staff were polite, I’ll give them that, they just wouldn’t give the new mum the key to the baby changing toilet, saying “the baby shouldn’t be in here!” When she clearly just needed a minute to change her baby. I mean… come on. It’s a new born baby! Just give thee the Key! Meanwhile, baby was crying, Mum was stressed, we were all upset.
I’d also like to add that there was nothing on the Google listing or the venue website, that we could easily see, that suggested children (or babies) were not allowed after a certain hour. Not helped, may I add, my a massive billboard outside, all night long that said “Kids eat for £1”!
It was a bad experience. For all of us. I think you need to just accept that 20 people left your establishment...
Read moreWent 28/05/2016. with a group of friends. at 19:40 the kitchen is closed if you order a Pizza on the menu but is open if you order burgers steak or other things. Staff doesnt exists, tons of empty glasses left empty till the end of the Champions League match available on the screen. All together ordered from the available menu something to eat. We waited 30min to get the first meal served. Lot of meals are clearly overfried or overcooked. when you see calamari fried completely flooded of (I suppose exhaust) oil the smell is strong . An ultimate burger we ordered was a mess, sweet fried potatoes tastes like fish and burnt. We haven't got the minimum amount of paper towels and forks. Few glasses broken instantly when served by the staff or collected empty by them. One of my friend tried to change the one broken glass with a beer inside to another new one, of course. She changed initially the glass refilling the old beer from the broken glass to the new glass. After we noted that she done this king of operations she refilled a new glass with fresh spill beer. Amazing I have to say!!!! Dramatic...
Read moreWe went along to the Yard to watch the rugby match yesterday, found a great table right in front of the big screen. Ordered some food and everything was fine. Halfway through our meal the waitress tells us that we have to move to another table because someone had booked the area we were sitting in - they didn't mention this when we ordered the food and told them our table number. We didn't want any fuss so we carried our plates and drinks etc over to another table (with a rubbish little TV built into the wall that we could barely see). The waitress apologizes and then tells us that the reason we had to move was because the booking had turned up early - they were supposed to be arriving at 7pm (this was at 4:30pm). So these people had turned up 2 and a half hours before their booking and we had to move! The game finished at half 6 so we would have been out of the way before their party started anyway. Absolutely disgusted! I've never been asked to move tables halfway through a meal...
