Simmons Bakers — Restaurant in Stevenage

Disappointing.

I visited this store several times over the past week. I have tried the pastries/cakes.

Overall food quality experience is very disappointing:

The Apple cake: A weak option. too sweat, not appealing. No crust. blend taste. Disappointment.

The traditional jelly donut: ok. Too much jelly inside, jelly is Mediocre. covered sugar is too rough. The actual donut was baked properly.

The Cherry cake: comes as a wrapped block. This product is NOT good and I reccomand you to stay a way from it. The daw is sticky and result with a terrible sticky sweat mash. loaded with too much sugar. The cherries inside taste industrial. All-together a very disappointing mushi creation. I had to trash it.

Store overall: The presentation is nice and therefore the disappointment as baked goods quality is very low.

I wish I could give them 0 🌟. Staff is rude. orders most of time not ready, cooking things that requires 10 minutes to be ready while by council we are allowed to leave cars in loading bays for only 5 minutes. So walking to restaurant and then w8,,, Very annoying. Then the staff also tell us that they give customers priority even if they come after us. So we are not human? Only response we receive when speak to staff is cancel the job and send next driver. Which is clearly rude, unhelpful and not really...

I went in with my dad to get a mushroom rolls which was delicious however the woman working whose name badge said Jane was extremely rude to us. She would roll her eyes at us repeatedly and when my dad was asking what one pastry was she stated “I just told you what that was don’t waste my time,” in an extremely rude manner and then she went off to serve another woman whilst we were waiting to pay.
