Very disappointed with the service at Juniper. I sat outside with my husband and scanned the QR code on the table to see the menu. We waited 20 minutes for someone to take our order and nobody came, so I went inside to find a waitress and placed our order for 2 smoothies. When it came to paying I tapped my card on the card reader and noticed we had been charged ÂŁ20 (ÂŁ10 per smoothie) rather than ÂŁ18 (ÂŁ9 per smoothie). I told the waitress we had been overcharged and she said we hadnât. I disputed this and she went to fetch a menu to show me the price. The price in the physical menu was different to the online menu that we had ordered off. I showed her the price from the QR code menu and she shrugged her shoulders and just said âwell that menu is wrongâ. I told her that they canât over charge us, we were misled with the price. She said she needed to speak to her manager. When she came outside I thought she would have just refunded our ÂŁ2 and apologised for the inconvenience, but instead she argued that the QR code menu was an old menu. I told her I wanted our ÂŁ2 for back. Again she went inside and I could see her talking to the manager for a good 5 minutes. I got up and went inside and eventually they gave us our money back. To lose their reputation and customer loyalty over ÂŁ2 is insane! It was their mistake which they should have apologised for immediately, but instead they embarrassed us infront of other diners. We wonât be...
Read moreGreat welcome to Juniper. I heard so many positive reviews about it, so I decided to give it a go. We were welcomed with a smile from the entrance. Before we sat down, we inquired about gluten-free options due to dietary requirements. We were assured that there is a nice selection and the food will be made separately. We sat down near the garden seating, with a view through the big windows but near the heaters, as it was quite windy today. Both of us loved the harmonica menu and the varied breakfast and lunch dishes. However, it was the shredded crispy duck in ginger salad that bought us.
When ordering, the staff explained the ingredients and how the food will be prepared to ensure that no gluten will be within the dish. For drinks, I had a Red Sea Sunrise mocktail, while my friend took a soda water. The duck was simply amazing, the dish was filling, and the mocktail was so refreshing. We enjoyed our meal in a lovely atmosphere of jazzy music and had a...
Read moreThere was once a time when this was a 5 star review. However based on my recent experience I wonât be returning⌠Attended the cafe on a busy Sunday morning for some brunch, but was informed it was busy and that I would need to wait for a table - that was fine I have no issue with that. Unfortunately the waiter managing that day deemed it appropriate to - Look my partner up and down and judge his clothing very inappropriately (we had just been to the gym FYI) Despite us being at the front of the queue for a table, other customers were offered available tables ahead of us.
I just found the entire experience completely outrageous to be honest and donât visit a cafe on a Sunday morning to be judged for wearing gym clothing.
Sadly I think that what was once a nice cafe, has become conceited, arrogant and above itself and I wonât...
