Otto 💙 Vegan empire 🌱
Hidden up these rainbow 🌈 stairs a meal awaits that will set your taste buds alive to a world of flavour and no meat …
When I say I’ve wanted to go here for the longest time and finally got round to it at the weekend , it was everything I’d hoped and more , treated my mum to lunch out ( she’s not vegan but open to trying alternatives and ever since not stopped raving about it ! I quote ‘this could convert me’ and ‘I didn’t miss/ need meat at all’) she’s even planning on replicating at home
The vibe is cosy ,quirky and transports you to the Middle East , greeted by Ben who single handed served everyone and the flow/ manner he held was professional and friendly
Started with drinks 🍷 and had to try their Vimto SHARBAT - Fruity and light the perfect fizz and cheeky tipple
Shared the mezze to start khoubz bread, fatteh , Esme ,Babaganoush hummus ,Black wada hommus, curd garnished with pickles 🌟 A must, each dip offers something different , a great experience not to be missed , could of ate copious amounts of the ‘cheese’ one
Otto roast ( 2 course dessert)
I couldn’t resist their infamous roast and every element was cooked to perfection The loaf was meaty ,nutty and substantial paired with potatoes, sweet potato mash , hispi cabbage , broccoli (my fave) roasted carrot 🥕 fluffy Yorkshire and the most delicious gravy (I asked for on the side) completed the whole dish
kofta Samoon Not normally served on Sundays but I didn’t know so the chef did it especially which I hugely appreciated as a neurodivergent that plans every detail , this was very much unexpected yet no fuss and so glad I got to have
The badass potatoes were punchy and perfectly cooked with a variety of textures and flavours The vegan kofta was a mix of a meat ball and almost arancini in texture Moorish and flavoursome With a freshness of lettuce , onion and crispy bread to have a massive mouthful
Sweet Pastry Crispy , sweet and sticky And SUPANGLE A chocoholics dream thick and rich with creamy cold vanilla ice cream and sharp raspberry
Fast , fresh service Talented chefs Quality ingredients and perfect portions
A vegan hidden gem not to be missed Already...
Read moreThis divine vegan place deserves to be far busier than it is, even on a Sunday evening when it shuts slightly earlier. The food is certainly 'Yottam Ottolenghi standard' with complex balanced flavours that dance on the palette and is replete with aroma, colour and texture served with style. The menu was charming in it's use of short stories to create a picture to frame some of the dishes...we loved it! The menu options were also very innovative with rarities like Manakish, Frickle, Black creamy Hummus and Sinconta Mezzes all contributing to a fantastic meal at a very reasonable price. Kofta, Qurma, Sexy Pie and a very generous Vegan roast were all firm favourites as main courses. Not a mouthfull was wasted! Atmosphere couldn't quite justify 5* as it felt more like a bespoke private dining experience as it was quiet. Our friendly waitress wasn't excessively attentive but gave excellent recommednations when asked. The tip we left was a reflection of that. Only one of us was vegan, but this food was very satisfying even to meat--loving...
Read moreI went to this restaurant on the 8th July 2022 and wasn't sure what to expect. The restaurant is upstairs and has lovely decor and vibe. The staff were attentive and very friendly - they couldn't do enough for us.
Now for the food!! I was expecting like many places a Lebanese/ Mediterranean theme - it was so much more - it was bloody delicious - I really wish I lived nearer otherwise id be in and out of there all week. I live in South Manchester but it was worth the drive over
We went for the mezze board which I have added as a picture - if you crave cheese like products there is a near cheese 'non cheese' on this board. The humous and dips were amazing.
We had kofta's and rice to share as we were fullish - my god they were amazing!! the pudding was lovely also
you simply must go - we need to back these restaurants as they cant compete in the same way as big chains this was a packed restaurant on a Friday night - I will certainly be back absolutely unique and...
