Nook Cafe Bar — Restaurant in Stockport

We were looking for a brunch cafe and decided to go to Nook. We went mid afternoon and the place wasn't busy. With it being our first time we went to ask how it worked, if we sat first or ordered and which tables were free. We placed our order which was 3 dishes and 1 drink as we thought we'd get coffee after.

No one was waiting to order and no one had ordered food before us. It took approximately 25 mins for the 3 dishes pictured to arrive and they also forgot our drink until we asked after they served our food.

The grilled vegetable focaccia was nice, simple with not much seasoning. I had to double check the pesto was in there as it wasn't apparent in taste.

Didn't enjoy the mushroom soup that much.

The fried eggs and avocado were ok. It wasn't smashed avo and one egg was over done.

The customer service was very basic. Forgetting our drinks, little communication & not even a bye at the end. We didn't end up getting coffee from there!

I just wanted to write and say a massive thank you to you and your staff especially Willow for making last Saturday a brilliant night. All our memory team had such a great night, everyone said it's the best venue we have ever been to for a Christmas do and we have been to many.

I don't know how we can ever find anything better than the outside space at The Nook. The fire pit really added to the setting and atmosphere. The little bar was so great to have just for our team, and the decorated tippee made it feel so much liked Christmas. The food was enjoyed by everyone.

Thank you so much to Willow for her professional, friendly, warm approach even under pressure which she coped with well, nothing was too much trouble for her, she is a true asset to your team.

I don't know what we will do for Christmas 2025, as we always go somewhere new, but all the staff are saying they want to book The Nook again! We might be contacting you in July!

Moved to the area 2 years ago and this was one of our favourites (very dog friendly). That being said the service and food seems to have declined recently. A visit over summer the lentil soup turned out to be lentil and chorizo which wasnt great for my vegeterian partner, we forgave this as simple but serious mistake. However we sat for brunch today to hear the bar staff loudly complaining about rude customers whilst not bothering to come check if our meal was okay, the table next to us also seemed to be having issues. The chips were overcooked oven chips and we feel the granola breakfast (topped with 2 strawberries and 5 blueberries) was over priced at nearly the same price as a sandwich.
