TAPTU — Restaurant in Stockport

100/10! Every single time. Taptu has become our new favourite spot, we can’t stop coming back and I can’t stop recommending this place to all of our family and friends.

The FOOD, wow absolutely incredible. If you’re looking for a place that serves up small plates with BIG flavour Taptu is the ONE. We’ve tried a lot from the tapas menu and all the dishes have been well presented and full of flavour. And don’t get us started on the The whipped feta, everyone NEEDS to try because I can guarantee you will walk out dreaming about it days after. It is absolutely addictive.

We have also took our 5year old son who doesn’t enjoy eating out, he is autistic and only usually eats the same food(Pizza) everyday cooked/look a particular way which we explained to the staff and they was so understanding and took on board what we had said. Our son was over the moon with his pizza and eat it all.

But what really makes Taptu special is the vibe, all of the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming from the second you step foot into the restaurant with their great recommendations. They really do make sure you have the best...

My partner and I had a wonderful evening at Taptu. The atmosphere was good for a Wednesday evening and the service was faultless. We were greeted by a smile and it felt right away as though they couldn't do enough for you. Our server was knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations which we duly obliged to follow up on. We were promptly served our drinks with a strong variety of wines in particular on offer.

We ordered a variety of tapas dishes, and each one was more delicious than the last. They come out as and when ready which was good as you could tell they hadn't been waiting and gone cold or warmed up just before coming out. The lemon pepper chicken was particularly outstanding but we enjoyed each dish and I definitely will have the hot honey garlic bread each and every time I go back. The portions were just the right size, and we left feeling satisfied but not overwhelmed and full. We still had room for desserts and they were also excellent.

Came here Sunday at 5.30pm. When we arrived there was only one other table occupied. One other table of people arrived whilst we were here.

We ordered a 3 for £18 of garlic bread with honey, haloumi, and patatas bravas. Chorizo, camembert croquettes, hummus, kids nuggets, and chips. 2 spirit with mixer, large and small orange.

Overall, the food was awful. Patatas brava most of the potatoes were hard and undercooked, halloumi was mediocre, croquettes were very overcooked, hummus was runny and had a horrible smokey/peppery taste. Nuggets were very overcooked.

The only decent part were the kids fries and the garlic bread.

Staff took £6 of the bill for patatas bravas as we asked them to with them being inedible. I think they should have been taken off completely and the hummus included in the £18 instead, as that was on the same offer, but we couldn't be bothered asking that for 95p difference.

Total bill £49.05. Really disappointed, won't...
