Work colleagues night out. Thought we would try the Purple Pakora in Hazel Grove as it has such a good reputation in Poynton and Marple, big mistake, awful from start to finish. Ten of us seated for a meal, we were asked if we wanted to order from banquet menu, as it would be easier as there was 10 of us, £16.90 per person for several courses for 6 people or more. Only 5 of the group decided to order from there, but as it was for 6 or more, they weren’t allowed and had to choose from regular menu. One of the group ordered a glass of wine, asked for it to be added to bill at end of evening. Three times the waiters came up and asked her to pay for it, we were still waiting for our meals at this point, not as if we had finished and were about to leave, in the end she just paid for it. We asked for a bottle of water, we got water, not even slightly chilled, we asked for ice, we got a small glass of ice, which virtually dissolved when the water was poured onto it, as the water was that warm. An hour after ordering we were given warm plates…..for 10 minutes…..then they came and took them back as the food wasn’t ready. When we eventually got our meals, 3 of us ordered salmon dishes. We were served flat white fish, that they tried to pass off as salmon. We asked the waiters what fish is this, they told us salmon. We told them salmon is a pink fish, this is not salmon, it does not look or taste like salmon. They disappeared and another waiter? Manager ?came out, he also said it was salmon. It was not salmon. We said we didn’t want the 3 fish dishes, he asked us if we wanted something else. By this point in time, we had waited well over an hour for these dishes to come out, we were not going to wait for something else to be cooked and declined as we just wanted to go. Two of the biryanis were lukewarm/cold, but they were that hungry they just ended up eating them. On leaving they were charging the 3 of us for the poppadoms and chutney until the group said that the least they could do was waiver the £5 charge for the starter, as a goodwill gesture as we had no main meals, they eventually agreed. Absolute joke, none of us enjoyed the evening and would not return. Definitely...
Read morePlaced order on just eat at 7pm on a Saturday, I know irs probably the busiest time to order. Was told the expected delivery time was 7.55 to 8.15 this is 1.5 mile from home, at 8.30 I asked for an update on the delivery to be told 8.45, at 9.10 I rant the restaurant after waiting over 8 mins for them to answer they said they tried contacting me , funny , no missed calls, I gave the ultimatum they had 10 mins or cancel the order, it rolled up at 21.20 with a 10 quid voucher, my order was for 42 quid so to accept the order and give an impossible expected delivery time is bad, its not like they've just opened and its their 1st Saturday, it only takes under 10 mins to cook 2 curry's so they should know what they're doing. The chips were cold on arrival but the food was actually very good, its a shame they can't judge how long an order takes to complete. Will probably order from them again but will be a lot earlier so there's more chance of them meeting their...
