Wow, I’m my opinion the best bread in the northwest of the UK! Better than Pollen! Soughdough, reminds me so much of those big rustic nobly French country breads. The taste is remarkable, the crunch sends you back for more. The baguettes looked scrumptious. Picked up a lovely leek brioche bun that was also so lush. Hopefully Yellowhammer will bring in droves of people to the Underbanks. Coffee on point also, Hasbean filter and espresso.

Had some of their bread at the remarkable Where The Light Gets In. So decided to buy a rye loaf and a very large sourdough table loaf for £13. The rye was so under cooked as to be inedible. The table loaf had a piece of wood on it (see picture). Emailed the shop and was just ignored. Avoid.

Service was incredible and the food wow!! The menu is so creative and love that it is changed regularly. Went for my birthday recently and felt so spoilt. The staff were so attentive and helpful while also being fun and professional. Would recommend!

Really disappointed after visiting here last night, it used to be mine and my husbands special place to go. Last night we felt extremely judged for ordering 2 small plates between us - the lady with dark hair and glasses said to us ā€˜have you already had dinner because you haven’t ordered ordered enough at all’ after we had already said to our original server we just like to come in for a nibble. The lady with dark hair said it in a way where she pulled a face as if we weren’t good enough to be in there. We wanted to stay for more wine but after that remark we didn’t want to be judged any further. It was a real shame because we have just got married and we went there as a little celebration after getting back from our honeymoon. The same lady was also being rude to the other staff and it wasn’t a nice environment to be in. We are so sad about this as we used to...

What a disappointment! I booked a table for 2, 2 weeks ago and realised within 5 mins i had made a mistake and cancelled the table immediately. I was charged £60. I appreciate that if people book and don't show and that table could hace been given to someone else fair enough. However I think it would be fair to say my reservation would have barely registered before I realised my error and cancelled. I have emailed twice now asking them to consider a refund or indeed consider a credit note for £60 as a good will gesture for my very costly mistake! However not had the decency to even acknowledge or reply to my emails so definitely won't be recommending yellow hammer to anyone. Regards very unhappy nhs...

We had a wonderful evening meal at Yellowhammer. The ambiance was lovely: soft candlelight, laughter and chatter and very attentive and knowledgeable staff. The small plates were a delight: we tried everything on the menu and it was all beautifully presented, original and delicious. The moist sourdough, mackerel dauphinoise and clementine cake were my favourites but there were excellent cheeeses and wines too. We were unfortunately only in Stockport 48 hrs but returned the following morning for coffee( v.good), chocolate brioche and leek butter brioche, when the space was in bakery mode.it was such a treat and we are envious of those who live locally and can visit often. A big thumbs up to the...
