The staff member that greeted and served us very friendly, however went downhill with the food, I ordered chicken parmingo, which we paid extra for, which should have had crispy potatoes and a mixed salad , It came with chips and just salad leaves, I didn't want chips which is why I ordered it, I pointed this out to the waitress, who spoke to the manager and chef , as my partner's food had also arrived which was as ordered, and we had limited time , I started on the chicken, when she eventually came back, I was told the dish did not now come with the potatoes, as stated on menu, in which case I replied the menu should have been changed, or customers notified at time of ordering, And the salad was still not as listed, She went to kitchen and returned with a full salad but by this time I had finished the escalope, so it was too late for this, She apologised and said she'd been off for a while and hadn't been informed of change, so why wasn't it mentioned before the food came out The chef and manager must have been aware So I had paid extra for what amounted to a piece of fried chicken, Was offered ice cream, which I did not want Spoke to the duty manager , and pointed out the menu issue, and said if I had been told before I ordered I would have chosen something else, as it was we didn't have the time, I felt the manager did not show customer care

Very hot on Covid hygiene standards, masks provided for a donation of £1 which goes to charity for anyone who 'forgets ' or is just trying it on. Staff are really really lovely - but there's room for improvement on the food. I chose a fish finger wrap as a light lunch ( I'm pigging a takeaway tonight 🐽) which in all fairness was tasty but let's face it, it's hardly a culinary challenge to a ten year old so can't really go wrong.... however, the tragic salad leaves serving as a garnish on the side of the plate had definitely seen better and crispier days and no amount of covering up with dressing was hiding it. While we waited for our food a couple at the next table got up and left after only a few mouthfuls, and another table were served with the wrong dish. Such a pity as been here before and not had an issue but something is going on in that kitchen that shouldn't be. Don't let it put you off, might just be a 'bad day' and we're all going through trying times right now. Stay safe and be kind!

Brilliant breakfast here this morning. Cooked to order and arrived nicely hot and nicely presented by pleasant staff. Not only that, it was cheaper than I expected and that's a rarity these days. I'd expected to get an all day breakfast from their normal menu, only to find they have a cheaper menu for the period 10am to noon. Excellent price, excellent service, and an added bonus of sunshine pouring through the conservatory window. Got the day of to a cracking start. The opening times can be a bit misleading if you intend going for an early breakfast. Whilst they are open from 7 or 8 in a morning to serve customers from the hotel next door, they only start non-hotel customers breakfast from about 10am once they have finished serving the hotel customers.

We came today in between cinema visits with our two young daughters. We wanted quick food at a good price. I've had some bad experiences with hungryhorse venues before, mainly poor tasteless food, but I thought I'd give this particular one a go as I'd not been before.

The place was large with lots of choice of seating, the man serving on the bar was very friendly. The food was brought by a man with long hair who was very polite and asked us if we needed anything else. But mostly, the best part about my visit was that the food was lovely! I am very quick to complain if something isn't as I'd expect it to be and I have done my fair share of giving feedback when I've felt its needed, but I find mostly and I count myself in this too that people don't particularly want to make time to Give good feedback when it's also warranted. My youngest ordered the Katsu burger from the children's menu but requested that they served the sauce separately, which they did! She is a very picky kid who always finds one reason or another to complain about what's put on her plate, but she didn't complain, she enjoyed it! It was refreshing to see her eat a meal whilst we're out without moaning about something or other. My older daughter got the macaroni cheese, and again, she enjoyed her meal.

My husband and I ordered and shared the crown of burgers and the Katsu combo, and it was very nice, especially the chicken wings, which were lovely and crispy!

So, Hungryhorse. Your Stockport restaurant has redeemed you in my books, we will be back to this particular pub in the...

Been many times here but has gone really down hill, more and more over time. Used to be a good place to go for a bite to eat or a quick drink or two but not anymore. Gone so down hill that after last visit I shall not be going again. Waited ages for main courses, which went cold quickly as it was freezing where we were sat, despite a halogen heater in use to compensate for it being so cold. Then waited another 40 minutes for desserts after which were obviously forgotten about as the table next to us ordered after us and got theirs within ten minutes. Have been stood at the bar waiting to order over 20 minutes in the past and the meals are questionable at best. Just try to phone up and enquire about meal time etc. You will see how long it takes to answer as staffing must be terrible. I rarely leave such bad reviews but sometimes it has to be said. Do not waste your money and time here, you would be better off at weatherspoons

**BIG Review update...... I didn't go for a long time since last experience. HOWEVER, have tried it out a few times since and major improvement had been made. Although the staff are clearly at times over stretched and asked to much of, can't complain at all about the service received! Joe especially I think he's called, really attentive and efficient member of staff that needs credit where it's due. Care and attention given and very professional. Team player and an absolute credit to the rectory team. Other bar staff also very attentive and friendly. My go to at the minute to be honest....

Gone massively down hill. Had awful experience in past, however i had read reviews that made me believe things had been switched around with new management. Sadly this is not the case. Our first red flag should have been the fact the pub was empty apart from drinkers for the whole duration of our visit. Team are too busy standing around talking, than clearing the eyesore mountain glasses all over the bar. Ordered on the app which drinks took well over 20 minutes to arrive (and there was maybe 2 other people in the whole pub as stated before). No orange juice available, however The gent was lovely who came to let us know, so that was sorted. Our salt and pepper chicken starter came literally as strips and a powdered seasoning in a dish on the side - it was so dry and almost laughable for £5.99. Mains came, sadly again my Katsu plate was awfully dry andd over cooked, and my partners korean burger was swimming in what could only be described as black tarr. In-editable. No check back was done for us during our visit otherwise I would have mentioned it to them in person. The men toilets had been signed off for a toilet check within the hour, but my partner had walked into an absolutely state of a toilet! The lack of knowledge or care from the staff here really shows in the guest experience and it's extremely sad. I've visited other Greene Kings before, maybe some attention needs to be given to this site before it slides more than it...
