The Calverts Court - JD Wetherspoon — Restaurant in Stockport

This Wetherspoons doesn't deserve 1 star. Went in to have breakfast before doing my Christmas shopping with my husband. I ordered the the standard breakfast with a coffee and my husband had the breakfast wrap. I was then handed an empty cup for my coffee and was told to get my own coffee. When I arrived at the machine there was another customer using it. The customer was struggling to use the machine so I went to find a member of staff to help. There was nobody about only the young girl who served me and she was busy. So I hung about then another girl came from the pot wash bar area. I said excuse me 3 times before she acknowledged me. I told her we was struggling to get the coffee machine to work this was her reply: have you seen the manager who is on the floor? I said no. She then said look for a lad in a grey shirt he will help you. I was fuming as there was no site of anyone else. At this point there was more customers waiting for coffee. Eventually a girl came out and filled up the coffee beans no apology for our wait. Then my breakfast arrived it was all cold by this time I had lost the will to live as it took the staff that long to sort out the coffee I didn't want to bother asking them to change my breakfast as the staff yet again were no where to be seen so we just left. I did however leave a note on my full plate telling them how bad it was. DON'T BOTHER WITH THIS WETHERSPOONS UNLESS YOU WANT KIDS SERVING YOU. THEY ARE ALL TO INTERESTED IN UPDATING THEIR FACEBOOK RATHER THAN GIVING THERE CUSTOMERS A BETTER...

Visited wetherspoons Stockport last night, 28th April 18. As I waited at the bar to get served I asked the guy next to me if he was being served, he wasn't, so I knew he was entitled to be served before me. The barmaid announced "who's next" a guy to my left said "a pint of lager" he arrived at the bar after me and so was not only behind me in the queue but also behind the guy that was before me. I pointed this out to the barmaid, she said I asked who's next. I explained to her that asking who is next at a wetherspoons on a Saturday night would invite a chorus of me me me and just because someone says a pint of lager it does not mean he or she is "next" I mentioned that she should have an eye on the customers at the bar so that she can serve in a fair and equal manner. Clearly this advice didn't go down well as she whispered to the young barman that was In the process of filling my glass"dont serve him" the bar manageress responded simarlarly. Maybe we should just stand there like sheep and rely on the random chance of being served. This place needs a professional bar manager...

Went in with my wife and children on the 6.12.17. My wife ordered a large mix grill and I ordered a chicken burger from chicken night. As my wife is pregnant I specifically asked for the meat and eggs to be well done. My pulled chicken burger came out lukewarm so I sent it back straight away and it came back lukewarm at that point I was too hungry to care. The meat on the mix grill came out med rare and eggs were runny. Again sent back. The egg came out on a side plate well done which is how it should have been done in the first place. We were informed they had to do a fresh steak which was fine. Kids food was ok had to ask how long the steak would be and it was brought out by a man wearing a chef jacket who just said steak well done and plonked it down. It took 3 attempts to get one meal out. I may as well said I will have a large mix grill on 3 plates that's how it pretty much was.
