Asked to be moved as the table given was a squeezed in experience, despite there being 6 empty table for 2's we were taken upstairs to another uncomfortable arrangement. (It was so cold we kept our coats on throughout the meal) The meal came, and although sparse in quantity looked ok, until my husband peeled off a piece of plastic still attached to the palma ham. See photos, upon informing the staff the reply was that they had informed the chef. The main came and having ordered fresh pasta with salmon. You can see the salmon that I seached for within the sauce on the side of the plate. The pasta was not fresh, you can buy the same from Aldi in a vacuum pack. When we went to pay my husband asked if he was expected to pay the full amount having been given plastic to eat. The response was that these things happen. Unfortunately this wont be happening again because we will not return. I wouldn't recommend this place. Bad service and a bad attitude.

Have visited previously when this was located in the previous location and gave 5 stars on that occasion. The new venue has a much more prominent location across from the theatre, however I feel that whilst trying to modernise its lost some of the character which I liked about the previous venue. The service itself was OK, sometimes we felt like we were waiting longer than we'd expect with only a couple other tables occupied. We weren't told that there was no duck or lamb until we asked for it, which is inconvienient as you then find yourself rushing to choose somthing else. The food was also OK, we had a starter and main and all was passable but nothing more. Unfortunately the temperature got the better of us towards the end so we slipped desert. Would personally like to see some more character from the venue and potentially simplify the menu in order to offer better quality.

3 of us had dinner here. The food was bland and cold. It took from 7.30pm when we ordered to 9pm when we asked where our main dinner was. It was a cold night, and the air con was also blowing out cold air. Half the staff were sent home before we had even been served, and the remaining staff didn't care about servicing their clients. The portions were small, and the spaghetti carbonara was creamy and bland. The ingredients used were cheap and tasteless. It was made with cream and normal bacon, not eggs and pancetta as it should be to give it that carbonara taste. My caprese salad was 4 very thin slices of tomato with 4 diagonally thinly cut pieces of mozzarella, no dressing and no olive oil or balsamic vinegar on the table. The whole experience was not worth the wait for the overpriced substandard food, and I will not go there again.

VERY RUDE OWNER & STAFF .. & Bad Food

Came in tonight for my other half’s birthday and couldn’t have been worse to be honest!! . It was only 5.30pm and the place was empty so there really was no need for the VERY long waits we endured , no need for The VERY rude and poor attitude from the owner and I assume manageress and the food really wasn’t great either!

Many issues through the evening with lack of service, and food ordered not arriving but the worse point was sadly my main and the staffs response to this… being allergic to onion I specifically asked what a certain dish was served with - I was advised Potatoes, Peas and carrots. My Food came after a long wait on a bed of Onion !!!!! When I flagged down the owner and told him he argued with me saying that I should have known it came with onion !!! Even though his own staff had advised otherwise !! He then literally huffed, snatched my plate away and stormed off like it was my fault !! …we sat there gobsmacked! The manageress then came over and literally chastised me like a child and said ‘ what a waste of a dish it was ’ !!!!! Like it was MY FAULT !! We were Never asked if we had any allergy’s and then they actually served my allergy up to me and got angry when I couldn’t / wouldn’t eat it !!

The Lasagne had by my partner looked reheated and not at all fresh - he didn’t finish it , my mum advised her Spag bol was very average and again pasta tasted soggy like it had been reheated or over cooked

The Garlic bread we ordered with the main to share was 2 tiny pieces of bread with a very hard tasteless cheese on, again it looked and tasted reheated and certainly not enough to share !

Our Potion of fries where so small was like a child’s portion and very white .. looked and tasted undercooked

Only came here as the other Italian ( which we love ) around the corner was full !! But this will absolutely be the last

La Bella Napoli is actually a lot more expensive than our usual Italian in the next street and it’s really is style ( decor) over any substance. Certainly not worth the money they are Charging!

The place was totally empty when we walked in and also not particularly busy when we walked out .. meanwhile other restaurants were full and that says it all !! With the poor food and bad staff attitudes it’s easy to see why they aren’t filling the seats !

I wish I had read the reviews before this spoiling my other half’s birthday meal

I totally realise that issues, bad days and problems happen .. but it’s how you deal with them ! Not only did we not have a single apology we were spoken to and treated with disrespect and made to feel like a nuisance

I would advise to avoid and book elsewhere sadly and...

Arrived as a walk in with my 6 year old. Given a table for 2 downstairs, went upstairs to use the bathroom. Came back down ordered drinks and then a staff member came to ask us to move upstairs as someone who had booked was disabled and couldn't make it upstairs. Upstairs had no atmosphere was cold and dingy and I said, if possible I would prefer not to, at which point a really bossy member of staff came over and repeated the request and said the lady had forgotten to tell them when booking and so we needed to go upstairs, again I said I would prefer not to and pointed out that there is a free table down here. Had there been nowhere else for the lady to sit then to make it clear I would have moved but it was not nessecary. She then told me I hadn't booked and was lucky to get a table and even though another couple said they would move she then berated me and said look at the woman she is disabled and so I decided to leave. It was a pre theatre treat for me and my son and I just didn't feel like being shoved in a corner. I had been seated, it was not my fault but was treated like a leper and the staffs attitude was awful. When we went outside I was almost in tears and some outside guests asked me what was wrong and so I told them. The staff member in a blue jumper then came outside shouting at me saying 'oh are you still going on about this...' and started to have a go at me again. She barely let me get a word in edgeways. Her parting shot was ' you were lucky to get a table... go away we don't want you anyway'. How charming for my 6 year old to hear. I went back into the restaurant after she ignored me and tried to explain again the situation but she didn't want to listen and just shouted over me and may I say kept shouting about the lady saying.. look at her she is elderly, she is disabled. The lady must have felt so embarrassed.

So word of warning if you go there without booking remember you are lucky to get a table and this clearly gives the staff carte blanche to treat...

An evening that left a very sour taste in our mouths!! Myself and my cousin went for an evening meal here on Wednesday after tel to book a table and confirm that the restaurant was offering the gov meal price reduction scheme. This was confirmed to be the case however, upon being presented with the bill we noted no reduction. We obviously queried this only to have an abusive and extremely rude tirade from the owner reign down upon us.! She basically called us liars when we reported the conversation that we'd had to confirm they were offering the discount, even more unbelievable was being told that they weren't offering it so as not to get "the kinds people in the restaurant that this would attract!!!" I found this comment truly derogatory and insulting! We were also told that us querying bill was keeping her from her babies as if we had no right to raise the issue?Again an UNBELIEVABLE response as her child care issues were not our responsibility! We have no issue with the food but customer service when dealing with our bill query was appalling unnecessary and extremely unprofessional . I will not return here again.

Sadly I think the tone of your response confirms what I said about the way you dealt with our query on Wednesday evening and isnt accurate. Once again the QUERY on the bill arose because a member of your staff gave us incorrect information at the time of booking. At no point did we say we wouldnt pay the bill which was paid in full. Secondly we were not " first in" as we arrived st 8.00 only to have to stand around waiting for our table,as all tables were in use! It was also inaccurate to say we were there until 12 when we were in fact home for 11.40? Thousands of people have benefited from this government scheme as have thousands of restaurants and to suggest that people who have are trying it on and not the kind of people you want in your restaurant ..which you said on Wednesday ..is frankly offensive! I have to say you are sadly lacking in customer...
