The Curry Republic — Restaurant in Stratford-on-Avon

Hair in food, customer service was atrocious! They tried to offer me a discount off my next order to begin with and then proceeded to haggle over what refund to give. The refund wasn't actually something I was bothered about, I'd have preferred an apology but they were more like, ah well it happens. More than half of the food we'd ordered hadn't been taken out of the containers and I was tempted to take it back down to them as I'd also lost my appetite and the guy on the phone had wound me up more.

Used to be a once or twice a month customer but haven't used them since pubegate. I now use Naya and haven't looked back. Food is actually better and they offer a good discount for collection orders. Curry Republic seemed more concerned about retaining custom without cost hence them haggling over a discount rather than apologising and ultimately led to them loosing my custom.

I did get a 50% refund but with less than 50% of the food being eaten I should have demanded a full refund but I couldn't be bothered with arguing or haggling with them.

I do not write 5 star reviews lightly but have to give the thumbs up to this small curry house near the Black Swan. Staff are brilliant. Service and food 1st class and the fact you can witness your order being cooked only adds to the ambience. Very reasonable prices compared to certain other eateries in our town. Just one thing. I visited with our son daughter in law and well behaved toddler fairly recently. Sadly the restaurant does not possess a single High Chair. This made things very awkward. It was early evening and whether the Restaurant wishes to discourage children I’m not sure. The best curry house in Henley in Arden. A varied menu with traditional Indian dishes plus they will cook anything you ask for. Very comfortable surroundings that are warm and clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is wonderful. A wide variety of drinks are available including a very refreshing cider made here in Warwickshire. The kitchen is visible behind a glass screen so you can watch your food being prepared if you wish to. Give it a visit, you won't be disappointed.
