Went to The Falcon with my partner and a friend, we had booked a table but it is so popular that it took several attempts to find a date/time that they had space and we were all free. When we arrived the atmosphere was nice, a gentle hub bub of noise and music but we were still able to have a good catch up and hear each other without any problems. My partner ordered the 32oz Tomahawk Steak which he really enjoyed and he said was cooked perfectly. I admit i am not the 'preferred' customer as I am a veggie. There was a dish listed on the menu as veggie 'special' so I ordered that, the waiter seemed surprise and asked if I wanted to know what it was before I ordered it. I pointed out that as it was the only veggie option I would be having it regardless which he then agreed with. The veggie option was delicious it was a stuffed pepper on an olive salad and obviously time and care had gone into its preparation. I felt that often the service to get more drinks was at best slow, it was very difficult to catch someone's eye to order drinks from. When we had finished our mains the staff all seemed to vanish and we wanted to order a pudding as on the menu it said if you ate all of the 32oz steak you got a free pudding and your name on the wall. We had to ask for the free pudding it wasn't offered and they didn't put my partners name on the wall which he was a bit disappointed with. I do feel that if that isn't something they want to do it needs to be removed from the menu. The food was great, the atmosphere was great but I did feel the waiting staff/manager lacked some attention to detail which would have then made this a 5...

We have been long term customers of the Falcon Steakhouse for many years and rave about the service and food to our friends. Unfortunately tonight we booked a table for 20.15. We immediately ordered our food, all main course steaks, we chatted for a while, enjoyed our drinks and after around 40 minutes I approached our waitress to enquire if it would be much longer, very politely, she politely responded that she would check. Another waitress came out a few minutes later and confirmed that the ding we heard was our food and it would be out immediately. We thanked her and moved on with our meal. During our meal the senior man in charge came over 3 times to check on our food and offer us drinks, each time we said we were happy and he left. At the end of the meal the same man came over to ask why we felt the need to chase our food as it had in fact only been 34minutes since the waitress input it and that we were rude to check. We were pretty shocked and said it was much longer than we’d ever experienced as long term customers and it was a much quieter evening. He then proceeded to tell me that my question was inappropriate and was fairly aggressive towards me, I asked him to stop before he went too far. We weren’t asking for a freebie or complaining just simply asking how much longer it would be. We asked for the bill and felt intimidated by the staff stood behind the bar talking about us and waited for us to approach them again to pay… really shocked and disappointed what should have been a lovely evening with what was amazing food really well cooked could be ruined by such rude staff that left us feeling...

Literally the best sunday dinner we've ever had.

From the moment we walked in the doors of the Falcon Steakhouse we were met with warmth and smiley faces. All staff members we encountered were knowledgeable about the menu and more than happy to accommodate us and our toddler - who must have given the surroundings diners atleast 15 renditions of twinkle twinkle.

Not only were the staff and setting lovely the food was incredible - we drove almost an hour from our accommodation in the Cotswolds to the Falcon and we were not disappointed. We opted for the sunday sharing platter - "The Sunday Best" Which consisted of Lamb, Beef and Chicken. Yorkie puds, pigs in blankets, roast potatoes, broccoli, creamed leek & kale, carrot & swede mash and bottomless gravy. Genuinely THE TASTIEST roast dinner we've ever encountered!

This was followed by dessert (included in the price of the sharing platter), I opted for the creme brulee and hubby had the (enormous) sticky toffee pudding with rum and raison ice cream.

The Sunday Best sharing platter was shared between both myself and my hubby plus our small human (almost 2 and a half year old) - we just got an extra yorkie pud for her so she didnt eat all of ours 🙈😂

Would 100% recommend visiting the Falcon Steakhouse And if we weren't heading back to Derbyshire on Friday - we would definitely be returning to try their steaks out

Thanks Falcon - we thoroughly enjoyed our dining...

Visiting friends in Bristol and decided to have a Sunday roast out rather than stay in the hotel. Found this steakhouse via Google reviews and hoped it would live up to its reputation. It exceeded it. I was mainly attracted to the fact the restaurant is closely linked / owned? by the butchers. Atmosphere was perfect. Tables nicely spaced apart. Tasteful decor. Clean and tidy and a warm feeling. Service from staff was excellent. I didn't get the young man's name who served us (tall lad with closely cropped hair) , but his manner and approach was extremely professional and a lovely welcome. I last saw this level of service at a Michelin star restuarant. Eg attentive but not intrusive. Food was a generous serving. Served hot and the vegetables were just right. It was also lovely to see the meat cooked to pink or rare. I cannot stand overcooked lamb etc. They obviously know their meat. Parking on the road is limited. So get there a bit early to lessen any stress. Thank you and we are definitely coming back here when visiting and have already told friends and family about you. Regards, Mark

If you like beef steak then this is the place for you! We enjoyed beautifully cooked sirloin steaks (23/05/2024) and chose 3 sides each which were included in the price of the steaks - not cheap but a very nice treat 😋 as we don't eat much red meat these days. The servers were all friendly and happy and made us/everyone feel special! Only downside(s) was the total lack of ambience of where we were placed in the Snug - quite intrusive music (a medley of various songs) which was unnecessary and quite bright lighting so you kinda felt you were in a café. The Falcon doesn't have a carpark but we were lucky to find a spot on a street not far away. The evening menu wasn't easy to navigate and a waitress had to explain! (Photo attached: we weren't sure if we could choose 2 small sides and/or 1 large side dish. It turned out we could have both). BTW the lunch set menu for OAPs looks rather confusing too... (photo attached) so see what you think 🤔 😉 It appears the Falcon has a public bar which looked and sounded busy and a butcher's counter - a novel addition!
