I didn't eat as I'm not a fan of roast dinners but the rest of our party did 6 adults and two kids. It as busy so I'd recommend booking for larger groups but the staff were managing to seat smaller groups without reservations (I think). The food although not my cup of tea looked great and there was a good selection of veg and meat to choose from with gluten free options for my coeliac wife and all the staff seemed very clued up especially the difference between being gf and a coeliac. The staff were all very pleasant and polite and friendly and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals we didn't have dessert as everyone was full but I'm sure they will be of a similar standard. Overall an excellent experience and we will...

DELICIOUS!!!! I've been before for a Sunday carvery which is really good. This time was a bank holiday Monday, we fancied some proper pub grub and this place didn't disappoint.

Portions were plentiful, tasty, and a bargain for what you got. I went with lasagne and it was piping hot, loads of mince and plenty of cheese. Proper home cooked chips aswell.

The boyfriend got a Kiev parmo, with fries and again the portions were crazy.

Nice traditional pub, easy to get too. Only issue, sort of, is parking. It's on street parking only so you it's pot luck at how close you get to the door as it's a very popular place. Extra bonus, it's a 2 minute drive to the beach so you can walk off the mammoth dinner or work up an...

I said "God Damm!!"......

I'm writing this as I've just finished my dinner and all I can say is "God Damm"...

That was without doubt one of if not the the BEST carvery dinners I have EVER tasted...

And make no mistake about it I don't choose those words lightly.

The turkey and ham (which is what I choose to have) literally melted in my mouth.

The veg was done to perfection and the gravy was quite simply Devine... Which in my opinion is the do or die of any dinner.

So my fellow Googler's..... if like my you love a good nosh then get yourself down to The Cliff in Roker...

You won't be disappointed.

Lovely cosy pub Nice warm friendly atmosphere Absolutely delicious food

Found this place totally by accident with a Google Search and it was an amazing find. Unfortunately for those working at and running the place it was empty apart from ourselves when we got there and I have no idea why. The food was fantastic. Beef bun had the best beef we have had in a very long time, it just melts and in your mouth and the gravy was top notch. Shipyard to drink is far from the worst choice ever to accompany a meal. Absolute hidden gem here. Thoroughly recommend the place 100%. Only gave the atmosphere a 4 ⭐ because we were the only customers in and it's a big pub. Lots of street parking just outside and nearby. Five minutes walk from the beach and sea front.

I have never been in here for years until this recent visit. We almost drove past it to be honest. Maybe thats a good thing for some, keep it quiet who knows. Anyway what a nice place it is, very comfy plenty of tables for us there was a few of us. The drinks were as expected and not too expensive. The service was very good, we ordered a few different dishes off the menu and everything was fresh and tasty and again not too expensive. There is a pool table and darts too keep you entertained if you need them. The bar staff are very pleasant.
