Welcome Inn — Restaurant in Sunderland

We had tried several Chinese takeaways over the last few years and never found a decent one until we had a menu through the door from Welcome Inn.

The food is always piping hot, very tasty and most importantly for us the chicken used in the dishes doesn't taste like the frozen chicken chunks you would get from somewhere like Farmfoods.

We have been ordering from here for about six months now and delivery is always estimated as 45 minutes and only once has it been longer at close to an hour.

This is now our go to Chinese takeaway and we usually order 2-3...

Recently ordered from Welcome Inn, had no problems for 20 years but the change in management seems to have made a huge difference in customer care. Was told via phone call that my order would be delivered by a "furious" "mad man". Absolutely appalled by this, so cancelled order. I live on my own and can not be expected to open the front door to such a person. After 20 years of good service, I am sorry to say i will be ordering my saturday night takeaway elsewhere. Unacceptable...

Portion sizes are amazing. The quality of the food is amazing. If you like anything Salt & Pepper, the chicken and beef is the best in Sunderland.

Black bean sauce is exceptional and the curry for all those who like to be safe (me at one point) is exactly to my liking, personally.

The owners are lovely and the driver is as friendly as they get. Miss having the chance to collect as they were all a great bunch.

Definetely worth investing in to, Ling Sun has got nothing...
