Golden Palace — Restaurant in Tandridge

Avoid, avoid, avoid!!! I’ve seen the reviews regarding the poor customer service and sloppy service, but as it is local, just used for takeaway, but today will be the last!!

The last time I ordered, I paid an extra £1 for broccoli in the rice. Quite steep, but an easy way to increase my greens intake. When I got home, no broccoli. I called back and the woman on the phone was quite rude/didn’t really care. She said the next time I ordered, I could get the broccoli and not pay (obviously!!!). Went to the store today to order and was told, I had collected the free broccoli “two or three times”! I haven’t been to the store in about 4-6 months!! She then walked off and proceeded to talk to her colleague in her language. An older colleague then came and just sat at the front desk in silence. I walked out. I truly am not going to argue over £1, but THE BROCCOLI WAS NEVER GIVEN IN THE FIRST PLACE. It’s a real shame there isn’t 0 stars. Terrible customer service and food is average at best....

It saddens me to submit any negative review, but this place failed to deliver on so many levels.

Fast forward to now, and all was very dismal by comparison as well as poor value for money.

Little attention to detail (ugly menu, no spoons provided, no water offered), zero ambience (poor lighting, constant takeaway phone within earshot, cliched Chinese music played too high), slow service (ignored for the most part), and very bland tasteless food (which also had little visual appeal).

If things get so bad that a business fails to care about what it does, it should really get out of it and hand over the reins to someone who does ASAP.

Absolutely dreadful! This restaurant used to be really good, I've been going there for ages. The Service, for which they charged 10%, was non existent. We were served by a kid who had no social or communication skills whatsoever. There was no "how's your food Sir" or "is everything ok Sir". The food too was pretty appalling, tasteless, bland Singapore Rice Noodles and Crispy Chilli Beef that had no "kick" at all. When we complained about the tasteless food the "kid" waiter just stood there silently, no apologies and no offer to replace the dish.
