Robertsons Tea & Coffee Shop of Oxted — Restaurant in Tandridge

This coffee seller and coffe shop is an absolute gem. It is the kind of unique store, with a passion for what it does, offering something that you are just not going to find elsewhere, that is all too rare now. Superb wide range of beans beautifully roasted in house, which is my main reason for visiting frequently. A lovely selection of unique biscuits and sweets to help me recreate that special coffee house experience at home to treat myself or guests. They have beautiful chocolates. A wide range of teas. And a very cosy cafe with a menu where they serve their own superb coffe. I'm also impressed with their effort to encourage green practices with a coffee bag recycling scheme. Sadly I won't be going back. My friend and I popped in there this morning and the man behind the counter pretended we weren't there. Eventually he looked at us and I asked if they did food to which he replied "No, only cakes". Fair enough so we sat down and a very nice lady came out and said they were doing some food such as toast, crumpets, teacakes. I ordered teacake and my friend crumpet(s). We also ordered coffee which was hot thankfully. Out came our food. Teacake for me, ONE crumpet for my friend. Surely they could have stretched to two! I thought it was good environment there. I really was offended when the owner mentioned that I was purchased cappuccino in plastic cup as sat outside as the time was just before 9am " that's fine " but I thought I sit down 5 minutes in Robinson and the manager stated to me tgat " due to I'm consuming cappuccino from plastic cup I was allowed to sit inside ! I never heard of any comments like this anywhere I been before . I was only visiting at the time but I certainly wouldn't visit there again and really not recommend due to...
