We visit Dawlish frequently and as Sticky Rice is new restaurant and we love Thai food thought we would give it try. Positives...food was tasty and more than ample, some good flavours, some of the selections bordering on Chinese but this is not a criticism. Service was also very good and pleasant. And it us for these reasons we would visit again. So why 4 stars?
Negatives. One big letdown for us, and this is now getting typical of many restaurants, so not just Sticky Rice..Given the impact of takeaway services, customers have to walk though the restaurant to the rear counter to collect their orders. Given the number of takeaway orders this impacts on the comfort of dining in customers as all tables are off the pathway through. Its a shame about this. As for menu, again not a negative but some classics Thai dishes seemed missing from menu e.g. Thai Fish Cakes, (one of my favourites) , King Prawn with Holy Basil (yummy). And, I have yet to find a Thai restaurant that prepares Nam Prik Ong....(spicy...

We were welcomed in with a warm greeting and the menu looked great. I am vegetarian and it can be a bit challenging to find things I will be able to eat, but there was so much I wanted to try. I settled on the vegetarian Pad Si-Ew and it was full of lovely vegetables and very flavoursome.
The owners were really lovely and generous. The level of service was really high, and I really enjoyed dining there. I look forward to our next visit and trying a few other dishes out. I am sure they will be just as lovely.
So far their menu just includes lovely Thai dishes, but as time goes on, they will be adding some Mediterranean items as well. As they have just opened a few days ago, they plan to open on the upcoming bank holidays, so if you are looking for a wonderful meal on Christmas, Boxing Day or New Years Day in Dawlish, this is the place.
Welcome to Dawlish...

We will hope to travel to Devon some time in the not too distant future and when we do we’ll definitely...
