Good beer but service can be slow due to the bar not being properly staffed in The last month this establishment has become worse firstly i was invisible to a barperson she served a gent fair enough but with only 2 people at the bar another 2 girls walk in between us and she serves them first i walked out shocking service not a clue what is going on around them Bar so so understaffed However i did have my first breakfast and it was superb and value for money like spoons always is excellent food but service at the bar is a joke its like segregation one barperson doing one side others invisabile I feeel a queuing system should be introduced then i wouldnt get missed thats now 10 times in a year and 2 in 2 weeks What i have noticed by a friend though is spoons have a great new app which you can order from your mobile phone and pay it by phone app and the barperson brings it to your table As he says this app saves him from queing up at the bar I love spoons as a rule but this one just has something missing at times but still cheap and cheerful since I wrote this away back 3 years ago I was asked to write again service has improved but the App orders can make it a longer wait for a beer but it's not bad during the week weekends can be a lot longer of a wait unless you...
Read moreWetherspoons pub. with plenty of character. What makes a Wetherspoons so popular? The prices. The price of every drink is significantly lower than any other pub. The food is significantly cheaper than any other pub and mostly includes a drink. The food is to the same standard as most supposed "gastropubs". The majority of pubs are not cooking fresh food. It's flash frozen and microwaved or deep fried in the kitchens. Wetherspoons make no pretence about their food; you know that it's done this way. The server in a Wetherspoons is excellent. The Richard Hopkins is always good. Yesterday was race day and they were being hammered. Despite that I was served quickly and the barman asked me if I wanted to sample a drink because he suspected I hadn't tried it before. That was without me requesting to! How many times has that happened to you before in a busy pub? I bet it never has! The food was cooked well, the portions are just right, not too excessive. Sirloin steak, cooked rare. That's a good choice for someone who wants a decent meal in my opinion. Finally, Wetherspoons has none of the atmosphere issues that you get if you walked into a pub where you weren't a regular. You can feel at home in any Wetherspoons in the Country. The Richard Hopkins feelsike a second home. That can make all the difference when you're out for a drink or a...

I went to Wetherspoons in Newton abbot last week and she started pushing me and shouting in my face to leave for no reason at all. I could of kept my calm better after I left but instead I put my hands up and say I was rude to her for the way I was being treated for no reason. She was clearly just trying to antagonize me. Then this week I turned up for my friends birthday and along she comes shouting in my face and threatening me. I apologise for whatever she thought might be the reason she could have an issue with me and she walks away. GREAT ITS OVER AND DONE WITH. NO...... I go to walk out with my friends to go to the next bar. She starts telling my friends wife how she should be around a man like me and that I tried to hit her. Again getting very abusive and telling absolute lies and shouting at me down the street trying to brand me as a woman beater. My friends obviously had my corner and made her aware that I'm a massive softy and that she was telling lies especially as one of the. Was there the previous week. Door staff are supposed to be there to make people feel safe and defuse situations. She is there to start the problem and has no place working on a door and is the exact problem that makes the good door...
