Peking — Restaurant in Tendring

My partner and I fancied a Chinese and popped in late during the week for a takeaway. We placed our order and asked if we could pop over the road quickly. The gentleman who took our order did not seem best pleased, but gave permission. We thought this odd but returned in short order. The fellow appeared a bit quirky as he handed our order over and generally gave off an atmosphere that was no best pleasant. The food was to good standard, and on that side I would have recommended strongly - but the service left much to be desired.

It was the worst part of an otherwise fantastic evening, and for that - 3 stars. Please work on your customer service and I will revise my rating. There are other places to visit in Harwich that offer customer service far more modernised and to a higher standard, and I had hoped for more from an otherwise brilliant...

So placed an order got told waiting time was going to be an hour and quarter which we were fine with it was 15 mins late (no problem) food was warm ! Ribs are ok chicken in lemon terrible, chow mien pork was burnt and the noodles we received arnt for chow mien almost for like a soup thin and short chicken balls disgusting even picked out a couple that were flat and square , prawn crackers dry tasteless days old sitting in a bag !! So spent 47£ we ended up throwing away and getting a mcdonalds! This is the first time using and the last...

I lived and grew up in Hong Kong for 15 years. Take it from me this is the only place you should be buying Chinese food from in the whole of Harwich. The food is top drawer and the real deal. I have eaten Chinese food from all the other outlets in Harwich and their food is truly dreadful.

• It gets very busy at the weekends, if you want to eat at 9pm say - order your food at 7 30pm as you can wait up to 90 minutes for delivery....
