What happened to people with a bit of fun in them?! It’s Easter break, kids are off school, parents are at home with kids or like me a mum with two children and just wanting a little bit of me time - meaning coffee!
Absolutely shocking experience from the Manager herself. My 3 year old son had work extremely hard to make a little snake cupcake and I allowed him to take it to the coffee shop - No 5. When I sat both children down, I went to finally order myself that well needed coffee. I approached and complimented the manager on her beautiful cakes that unfortunately my son didn’t want as he has his “snake cupcake” ….only to my shock that the manager requested I do not do it again! I explained that He was 3, but she still assumed it was going to be upset her business. On the contrary, she has lost 4 customers ( my husband and myself and my 2 children that I always buy for when at a coffee shop.
Disgusting manners, rude, and a extremely obnoxious woman. Beware, don’t move chairs, don’t bring ur kids mini cakes, sweets or in fact DONT GO! Don’t waste your time.
Really poor customer service/ the staff look like they can’t wait to leave for the day. If your reading this play...
Read moreSadly disappointed upon visiting No. 5 with my small, well behaved dog. I have been many times before and have enjoyed this little cafe, I was under the impression this cafe was dog friendly, signs stated one dog per table, and the social media depicts a dog friendly cafe. Unfortunately upon visiting I went to sit at a regular table and was immediately asked to go sit at the back (of the empty cafe) at a small, high table with stools, by the stairs, where I had to hold my dog so that she was away from the very close stairs. a little tricky to eat and drink while holding a dog! My furry friend is silent, and well behaved and would have been just fine at another table that was lower where I would not have had to hold her the whole time. I feel the sign should be revised to say 'one dog per table, at the one table, right at the back, where dogs are allowed'. On reflection, after leaving, I feel I was made to feel really rather unwelcome and will not...

I was advised against going to this cafe due to the way previous staff and customers had been treated, however I thought I would go anyway as it looked like a nice place to have a coffee.
The place has nice decor but that's about it, the coffee was pretty burnt and bitter i would've had better results going to cafe Nero round the corner and that's saying something. I was made to feel un welcome because I chose to sit in one of the only (out of 4) comfy cushioned seats and being asked move to one of the also limited (it's a small place) hard benches. I later then heard the staff talking behind my back about me choosing to sit in my initial seat.
Overall not really worth your time, if it had good food and drink to boast then it wouldnt be as much of a disappointment but really there is never an excuse to be so rude to a customer I soon realised why I had been...
