We went to eat here on a Saturday evening and after walking through a very quiet section found the back of the restaurant nice and busy. It was only about 9.30pm so not late but the moment we sat they hung around until we chose our drinks and then hassled us a bit to choose our food, we felt they were in a rush to get us served. The food was okay but needed seasoning but the Nan bread was lovely. The service was rushed and a little glum and before we had finished they were clearing the restaurant and making it obvious they wanted us to go, nothing more off-putting than dirty tablecloths being flicked around! So we drank up and left, probably not to return. A real shame as it's a nice looking place and I like the more romantic seating (not that we went for romance as I was with my close friend!) but the experience last night has put me off, we have three Indian restaurants in Romsey so losing one to bad experience still gives us two good ones to chose from. Of course it could have been a bad night for reasons we didn't know about but I wish they had just said they were closing early and we would have moved to...
Read moreWas going to give this a poor review but the chicken dish I had was so tasty I changed my mind! Firstly we must have had a bad waiter because he was rude, pushy and unhelpful It was quite when we arrived on Friday night but we weren't weren't given a minute to peruse the extensive menu. Settled in starters in the 3 minutes he provided us but when asked if we could have a little longer to decide on mains he said no "as it would crash his system" so we just blindly picked Also sadly only one red wine available by the glass which turned out to be a £6 a bottle cabernet sauvignon 😔 which they wanted £20 a bottle for, had they had more options or a bit of patience here we would have usually spent £20-30 on drinks but instead I had a diet coke as I was being forced to decide By the time we ate the restaurant was heaving and as I said my chicken dish was incredible ( even though not hot) so I can see why it's popular. Hopefully we have a better experience...
Read moreIll start by saying the food was very good and reasonably priced. We dont live in romsey, so made the rare journey to visit. There were 6 of us in total, we all ordered individually, but also asked for 1 phall for the table. We called the waitor over to explain that its not a phall, with some of the medium dishes we ordered even hotter than it.
The waiter persisted in arguing with us about it until he finally agreed to change it. 5 minutes later he came back out and aggressively started spooning it onto my plate without asking me, even though it was for the table. It goes without saying, they just made a stupidly spicy curry that tasted like vinegar (hot sauce). The food i had left was ruined as it was covered in the curry.
Im not someone who normally complains, and as we collectively spend around 300 on the meal, i expected to be treated a...
