I phoned the white Hart today as we had just came back from a weekend away and it is my birthday today. Bearing in mind I had left phoning til an hour before, when I called the lady on the phone was so helpful. She went and reserved us a table under the name 'Happy Birthday' as I hadn't given her my name. The pub had a brilliant atmosphere and was very christmassy with twinkling lights and music playing. The food was very good and I would especially recommend the mixed grill which my husband and son had. There was a varied menu including a lighter bites, gluten free and snack range. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we got there, all of the staff were lovely but the lady behind the bar who reserved the table for us stood out (sorry I didn't get her name). This is the second time we have been in here and we will definitely be returning. Thanks for making a tired and hungry birthday girl after travelling so happy!

Although rooms a bit dated, they were spacious. Staff are excellent. Sarah B and Chantelle the chef are lovely. Asking if the food is okay and if needed anything else always with a smile. We had been given a room up the top, which I was told it was on level. The manager and staff worked around this and got us to lowest level. Cannot thank them enough. Yes I would stay here again. The staff are so welcoming and friendly very good vibes. 👍. Visiting the Army Flying Corps museum and the Hawk conservancy. Both I recommend especially the Hawk conservancy. The Birds of Prey are so stunning especially when they are in flight.

The room was terrible, the curtains were old and damaged not stopping the outside street lights from entering the room, with the sloping floor the bed was uphill and the bathroom down hill, the previous occupants had left their dirty knife and fork on the dressing table and the cleaning staff had left them as a present. The ceiling paper was torn, I guess the poor lighting was to tone down the decoration from the 1940's. The bed was two singles joined together, which helped in the night stopping me from rolling out of the bed towards the toilet. On a plus side the breakfast was good.

Me, my partner and sister stayed over for the night looking to go out in town overnight and the experience was good but disappointing in places.

Food - Firstly the front of house staff were lovely, couple of younger people who seemed to really care about customer experience which was great to see. Yet on the other hand we definitely got the impression that the back of house staff (kitchen) may have been struggling; our food took an hour and 15 minuets to come out, we had staff come out and tell us they didn't have any "" 4 times and ended up with 2/5 items from our original order and the proportions were confusing, huge amount of lettuce iny burger yet my sister ended up with a measly spoonful of pea's with her pie.

Hotel - The hotel was nice yet once again areas were lacking. We had a lovely large room with a surprisingly gorgeous bathroom and large tub, lovely bonus. Mattresses were comfy although one slightly lumpy and extras were nice (kettle, tea and biscuits, ironing board, TV). On the other hand though it felt like the whole place was begging for a restoration; the walls were pealing between the wallpaper, there were cobwebs all over the windows inside and out, smelt damp. I had to actually take apart and re-screw part of the fan back together as it wasn't secured and making loud noises during use. Most notably our room, 09, actually wasn't able to be locked from the outside and didn't automatically as it was supposed to, so anyone was able to open our door whilst we were out, luckily nothing happened there.

Overall we enjoyed our staye got back at 4am and out by 11am, but do think It could do with maybe a little bit more attention in places. Thank you to the lovely FOH staff for making us...

A Cozy Pub with Excellent Food and Drink

The White Hart Andover, part of Marston’s Inns, offers a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes it a standout pub in the heart of Andover. With its traditional wooden beams, rustic charm, and friendly vibe, it’s a great spot to unwind, whether you’re stopping in for a pint or enjoying a hearty meal.

The menu at The White Hart is a perfect example of classic British pub fare, with something for everyone. From fish and chips to pies and burgers, the dishes are well-portioned and reasonably priced. The pub is also well-stocked with a solid selection of ales, lagers, and wines, making it a great place to grab a drink with friends or relax after a day of sightseeing. The food quality is impressive for a pub, offering both comfort and taste in every bite.

The atmosphere is warm and laid-back, with the buzz of conversation and the crackling sound of the fireplace making it an inviting place to spend time. The staff are approachable and always ready to help, creating a welcoming environment that keeps you coming back. It’s a place where you can enjoy a relaxed meal or a drink, without feeling rushed or out of place.

If you’re in Andover and looking for a classic British pub experience, The White Hart won’t disappoint. Whether you’re here for a casual pint or a full meal, the combination of tasty food, excellent drinks, and cozy atmosphere makes it an easy choice for both locals and...

If you are a vegan and looking to try the new menu in the White Hart - please don't!

I had vegan nachos in there today made by a member of bar staff (I can only assume as she said she would start and finish my food) rather than a chef because of this I was given sour cream instead of vegan mayonnaise on my food. As a result I have been violently ill at home.

My partner contacted them via phone to ask more information regarding their vegan food to which he was rudely told by the general manager/head chef that it was definitely vegan mayo and he remembered making them earlier, he then went on to say if we wanted to pursue anything we would need a doctor's note.

My partner then called 111 to see if anything could be done, he was advised to get a sample of vegan mayo and the sour cream.

Following this, he went to the restaurant to speak with the general manager and asked for the two sample pots of the sauces stated above to rule out the mix up.. he was refused any samples because in his words 'it would be used against them' so then he asked to purchase one pot of each sauce and again was refused.. he then asked them 'are you refusing to sell me the sauces' they said yes.

My partner then left empty handed.

Because of the way they have handled the situation it leads me to believe they have...
