This restaurant has changed my view of typical Russian food in a positive way. We were warmly greeted by the charismatic and entertaining Ramsey, who took us to our table and explained they are a small family run restaurant who cook everything from scratch. This obviously means service will be slightly slower, but it's worth the wait as the quality is superior to pre-cooked food in mass produced batches. It definitely proved true. We all started off with the Solyanka soup which was absolutely delicious; perfectly seasoned and packed full of taste, meat and vegetables. We then went our own ways with the main courses. I opted for the grilled wild boar which was surprisingly large (not that I'm complaining! :-) ). Everyone was happy with their meals and left feeling full. Sadly, we had to skip dessert as we had to catch the last train back home. However, I'd happily visit again, but next time would definitely arrive earlier so that we could experience the dessert menu. Our two courses took approximately 90 mins, I'd allow maybe 2hrs for the three course experience. Highly...

Read moreHaving read numerous very good reviews on this place, I visited with my son. We had booked a table for Saturday night, which was just as well as it was almost full when we arrived. The restaurant is directly opposite Chatham House Grammar School and is quite small and family run by pleasant staff. It serves a selection of typically Eastern European dishes, mostly based around meat and potato, but with quite a wide choice. We had the Solianka a a starter, a rich beef based soup with smoked sausage, which was absolutely delicious. I then had the wild boar stew and my son had the wild boar fillet, which was deliciously chargrilled. Both were served with delicious potato wedges and salad. The food was well cooked, hearty and very tasty. The best surprise was at the end, as our bill, with drinks came to 40 pounds! So if you are hungry and want some inexpensive tasty food, I can...
