An unexpected gem. Our visit started with a nicely pitched quiz so that our children studied the history of computers and gaming, which was well researched and presented. They were then able to have a couple of hours absorbed playing family friendly classics on x-box, ps2 and Nintendo game cube. Meanwhile young and old pitted their skills against one another on classic arcade games, with youngsters noting their surprise that their parents gaming skill. I also enjoyed the trip down memory lane seeing the displays of the home computers and technology since the 1980s, while learning much about the gaming and device history of those days and earlier. It is such an interactive place reviving immensely fun games. It is an inspiring labour of love of the charming couple who have put in so much time and presumably covered so much of the cost of running the place for others' enjoyment - apparently the technology has been collected over a long period - thank you so much. It was a privilege to be there. We can't...
Read moreAn excellent place to visit for all things retro in the computer and gaming console world. A massive private collection of computers and games consoles. You're greeted by a welcoming husband and wife team, who are both charming and extremely knowledgeable. What the husband doesn't know about retro computers etc isn't worth knowing. They also have a number of games consoles set up for you to play loads of games on if you wish. From PS1 to N64 it's a great collection! It's only £5 to get in and you can play games as long as you like. Being in my 50's it was definitely a trip down memory lane, as I owned and still have a number of the computers and consoles in the collection. Most definitely worth a visit if you're into retro stuff or computers and...
Read moreWe had a great time at this little museum. Mike and Carol were so nice and friendly, giving us lots of information about the museum and its fascinating collection. It was a real trip down memory lane, seeing all the old machines I remember from my youth - Commodore PET, Sinclair ZX80, ZX81 and Spectrum, etc. Mike was even kind enough to fire up a BBC Micro so my 11 year old computer-mad son could play the games I did as a kid! There were even some simpler games and toys to keep my 4 year old happy. As well as the huge collection of hardware (including a Sinclair C5!) there are very interesting information panels on the walls describing the earliest origins of computing concepts right up to the present day. Highly recommended. Many thanks...
