A minute's walk from Ramsgate train station and the high street, so you have plenty of time to come here and relax before or after your desired outcomes. This is a gem nestled in the heart of the town. The park has a range of attractions, including a fenced play area for younger children, and a physical activity area which both children and adults can enjoy! The open grass spaces and tree-lined paths make this park popular with families and dog walkers. There is also a bowling green, an Edwardian bandstand, and a miniature railway line which runs in summer time with small steam powered trains. Access to the park is good by public transport and there is unrestricted parking for cars in nearby residential roads. The park has surfaced pathways running through it and wide access gates at the three entrances.

Lovely park. Toilets are clean. Caffe is reasonably priced and well kept. The play areas are great for the kids to enjoy. There is a model railway which looks fun though it was closed when we went. I was fascinated by the Ramsgate tunnels that apparently were dug in the 1930’s under the park all the way to the cliffs. Parking looks like it could be a challenge as it’s on street. I’m told it has a green flag award. Easily accessible with buggies and could be used by a wheelchair if you don’t mind a few hills.

Absolutely lovely place to visit, the park for the children is fenced off and the wildlife area is amazing to explore with a pond for the children to look at. The park in whole is lovely place to visit either to walk round, ride round, sit and have a picnic. The park has events happening which are all family friendly with fun fairs, music and loads of other exciting things. Great to visit in the winter jist for a walk as the views can be amazing.

🌳 Ellington Park, Ramsgate – Local Family-Friendly Green Space

Ellington Park is one of Ramsgate’s most peaceful and family-friendly parks, perfect for a relaxing afternoon or casual walk. It’s recently been restored and now features a fantastic children’s playground, a lovely community café, and wide open green spaces for all to enjoy.

The new playground is clean, modern, and safely enclosed—ideal for toddlers and older kids alike. Parents can relax on benches nearby or grab something from the café, which offers good coffee, homemade cakes, light lunches, and plenty of outdoor seating.

There are regular community events like live music, food fairs, vintage markets, and seasonal celebrations, which really bring the space to life. These events are well attended and often feature stalls from local Kent businesses.

Dog walkers will love it too—there’s plenty of space to roam and bins are provided throughout the park. Paths are accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs, and there are plenty of shaded areas for hot days.

The park is very clean and well maintained, with a real sense of local pride. Parking is available on nearby roads, and it’s just a short walk from Ramsgate town centre and train station.

Whether you're a family, couple, dog owner, or just someone who enjoys green spaces, Ellington Park is a calm, welcoming place to unwind. A hidden gem and a real asset to Ramsgate.

⭐ Pro tip: Visit in the spring or summer for the best experience—especially during community...

A beautiful park that has a friend's group who have been transforming this from an old wreck to a highly desirable pleasant peaceful place to visit with children and dogs or just by yourself. The playground has been replaced and enclosed to keep dogs out. There is a railway track that has steam trains that are big enough for even adults to sit on and enjoy. It has a bandstand, a bowls club and is safely enclosed for children and dogs. There is a small bookshop selling second hand books to help maintain the park. Also a cafe run by the friends. A pond and natural area has been built and enclosed for child safety. Only dogs on leads may enter to preserve the area. More additions include two more areas of play for both children and adults. There is a more adventurous area for older kids and an area including a permanent table tennis table and net. So take your own paddles and ping pong balls to enjoy a game. Another stunning feature are the many carved animals, birds and a soldier. You can also hunt for Thanet painted rocks. Take a picture and then post them on the friends of Eli Park Facebook page. Then rehide them for someone else to find. Why not make some yourself and see where they are found next. Some have gone abroad even. Please clean up after your dogs and...

I came here last Sunday for a event .Our charity had our" Smiley face tombola" stall here .( East Kent baby memorial gardens ) It was a day to bring awareness to all whom have been touched by the loss of a baby ,how ever many years ago in their lives🙏.We bring along information about us ,what we do and offer the chance to order a name tile to be placed in one of our baby gardens of your choice( £40 one off fee , a tile with your baby's name on it .Our goal is to have a small garden( not a cemetery ) within each town .Other than our main garden in Ashford we have branched out to Canterbury , Faversham Sittingbourne already and looking for more areas and volunteers to help with management of the areas 🙏 We are hoping to be able to have a place within Ellington park to erect the name tile boards within the near future🤞) 🙏 There were over 80 other stalls of all interests .there are some very talented crafty people around ! Wonderful selection of items and food to buy at very reasonable prices . There is a lovely bandstand in the middle of the park ,along with a little rail track that you can ride on a small engine .I would definitely be back to visit A beautiful place surrounded by trees shrubs and very...
