Kaspa's Broadstairs — Restaurant in Thanet

I've always been a huge fan of Kaspas. Unfortunately , I went there the other day and without telling anyone or me...they have apparently "changed their menu" so now...they've cut the size of the Sundaes glass to less than half but still charge full price. Was a totally rip off...and I they tried to say it's the same amount in the glass, just different size. 100% not true. Don't go there for Sundaes.

Kaspas's reached out to me. They were friendly and respectful. They arranged for the Broadstairs manager to reach out to me. Unfortunately if I had to rate the management it would be poor. They effectively do not have true knowledge of what the Staff are doing. They believe the menu was changed in July and that the staff have ever since then been giving out the short half-size glasses. This is absolutely false. Effectively management are implying I'm blind or delusional.. because it must not of happened... since they changed the menu? Perhaps the management are just too disconnected from the front line to know what the frontline is actually doing. It certainly is not what management thinks is happening that much is certain.

[UPDATE] 28/11/2022: So following the contact from the store manager that essentially implied I was blind and must of imagined being given tall glasses on all previous visits for the last several years... following my review on here. Which what was what...maybe a week or so? They've updated their images on their menus to reflect what you will actually be given. At least on their delivery sites anyway. Coincidence...

We went in for a treat for my girlfriend and decided to go to Kaspas beause of the Defense Discount. We ordered the Fudge Brownie milkshake and cookies and cream milkshake from the menu but they served them without any toppings at all as shown in the menu (see picture). I went to ask for some as I thought they simply made a mistake and the girl who served us said "oh no they don't come with the topping but that is the one in the picture" and gave me an attitude when I asked for the toppings.

I went back to my table and my girlfriend was dissapointed she didn't get the toppings. So I went back up and had to cause a fuss to get it made the same as the picture, the manager made excuses saying that "the staff aren't trained in putting on toppings" (yes she seriously said that). She eventually relented and gave them to us in a bowl. I never got any for my cookies and cream one though as shown on the website.

Not really the service I was expecting and unfortunately do not see myself visiting again any time soon so this will be my first and last visit.

Also the straws are useless and dissolve in the milkshake and make...

Normally we all love cheeky bit of Kaspas as a treat as this is not the first time we visited however this time was disappointing, not food wise, it was lovely well at least the part that was right. The lady at the till was lovely but lack of her understanding ruined this experience. First asked for a kids size portions and was told that they do not do it which clearly states otherwise on the website, ok no problem I thought ordered a normal portion, then asked for a drink by pointing with a finger and couple of times and asked for no ice and guess what, the drink that was brought to the table was different flavour/colour and with ice 🫢 at this point asked the lady about the different drink and she ofcourse said that it was me that pointed at a different colour one and even if I did point to the different one specifically said which colour and what flavour of the drink I wanted. Just left it at that as did not want to ruin experience for kids and the drink was nice. It was not bad overall , however it would be nice to get what you ordered and staff should be more aware...
