Pumpkin Cafe Ramsgate — Restaurant in Thanet

On our way to London this morning. We ordered the hot drink with cake offer (fabulous). The lovely server unfortunately made my tea with far too much milk. I asked for an extra tea bag.... which was rudely refused by what seemed to be the manager. He then said we can make you a fresh one but that would be 50p. Or if I wanted the extra bag, it would be 50p. I was super disappointed, my first tea of the morning is now milk and water!!! The staff here are lovely, friendly, always have a smile and a kind word - they also serve everyone promptly enough so that you always make your train. It’s just a shame that whoever runs the place doesn’t take advantage of the flow of people by making it a nice cafe. The room is extremely shabby and the selection of food looks like something from a motorway service station from the 80s. It’s not the modern, vibrant cafe that it ought to be. Decided to grab a quick coffee before my train. Walked in to find woman with her back to me reading some paperwork. Stood there for a few minutes and made a few subtle gestures to make her aware. She turned around eventually, did not acknowledge me then walked in the kitchen.

When she returned she enquiried in a surly manner: ‘Wha’ ya want?’. ‘Cappuccino please’, I replied. ‘Ow big’ (with a long sigh).
