Ramsgate Boating Pool — Restaurant in Thanet

I loved where and how it was. Lots of character and clean where it needs to be. Renovations need in places. The cafe itself had indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the Boating pool. Lots of food on offer and everything I saw looked good. I had 2 of their bacon baps and they lived up to their reputation, perfectly cooked and very fresh baps too. Salvas order was jacket potato with tuna and sweetcorn with a side of cheesey chips , as normally jackets are not too big. Wrong, it was a huge well filled potato, he struggled to finish. The staff were all friendly and service was very quick even though most of the tables were occupied. A big fuss was made of our dog and biscuits provided too. When I first arrived here I was a little bit underwhelmed. The water is a dark blue / black colour and reminds me of toilet cleaner. There was pond weed piled up and cooking in the sun. The place looks like it needs sprucing up and a bit of investment...That said, my experience here was very nice! Quite a unique setting to sit and enjoy a beer or two with the family. Kids were happy, adults were happy, the weather was nice and the beer was good. Nice to sit outside and have some music in the background for a change. The toilets were being renovated but still were decent. Plenty of character in this old place and hopefully a bright future ahead. Great views out to sea also. If you're coming here for food, avoid it. A nice area, with a play area and boating pool. But jesus christ the food service is atrocious. Been here twice now, first time the sausages didn't come with our breakfasts so we had to ask and they came out 15mins later on a silver plate. This time we ordered cheese sandwich for our son, and they brought him the wrong fillings. Our bacon we asked the server for no rind but they brought it out ignoring the request then when I mentioned it, they edited one half of the sandwich but didn't bother doing the rest, I wasn't going to mention it again.
