Rio’s Cafe and Restaurant — Restaurant in Thanet

This is a family run cafe. I have been having full meals here for many years now. The staff are all so very polite, helpful and friendly. The range of meals on offer is so vast that the menu covers half a wall !!! You can just have a hot or cold drink or you can have a light snack or if you are feeling hungry you can have one of their renowned large meals. They have sandwiches, baguettes, burgers, fish and chips, jacket potatoes with various fillings, full cooked English breakfast, steaks and even roast dinners. If you still have room you can have a scrumptious pudding too, from ice cream to a roly poly pudding with custard or ice cream. Children are welcomed in and smaller meals are available. The staff love pleasing their customers and the children may have a lollipop at the end of the meal. Dogs, unfortunately are not allowed in but there are some seats and tables outside if you want to stay and eat out with them, which I often do. There is a toilet at the back of the cafe. I can't recommend Rio's in Grange Road highly enough. I had never been there before, but as I live down the road, I took my adult daughter there for lunch today. She had the mixed grill + a cappuccino coffee and I had the full English breakfast + a normal coffee. The food was excellent quality, cooked perfectly and the coffees were lovely. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and looked after us extremely well, taking the time to engage us in conversation. The cafe itself was spotlessly clean, including the kitchen area, fresh and well ventilated. Great value, lovely food, friendly staff and clean. Visited this cafe after seeing some lovely pictures of dishes on Facebook. They didn't disappoint; we had the breakfast menu, but the roast dinner looked and smelled divine, and we shall definitely return to try that. The girls at the front of house were friendly, attentive, and chatty. The whole atmosphere in the cafe was lovely, and the food is cooked freshly and is tasty 😋.
