Upon the recommendation of friends, I recently visited this establishment with the intention of enjoying a meal. Unfortunately, the experience did not meet expectations. The beverages, including both beer and soda, lacked carbonation, contributing to an overall disappointing start. The ambiance of the venue was peculiar and not particularly welcoming. The service staff exhibited a level of unfriendliness that dissuaded us from ordering food, a decision further reinforced by the discomfort caused by certain regular patrons. This discomfort extended to an incident where a patron hastened our use of the facilities, which was quite disconcerting. Ultimately, we opted to limit our visit to a few drinks, yet even this was marred by being asked to vacate our table due to not dining. This pub has always been friendly and sold some decent beer but pubs nowadays have to do a lot more then just sale a pint and unfortunately customers sales diminished and sadly suffered the same fate as a lot of pubs. Pros: So it now has a new landlord and and has now started selling food and it seems that you can hold events there so if you have one it may be worth checking out, they are painting the front up so it shoud look nice and fresh. Cons: if not done yet it needs a new carpet, more events to attract the customers, the play area needs updating and fenced off from the car park and the separation from pavement for the seating area out front. We had a table booked for 7pm. We arrived, and the bar staff told us to take a seat. We did. Then a very drunk woman came and asked us what we were doing. We stated that we were booked in for food. Her response was "good luck with that"...Apparently our booking didn't exist. She did then offer to make something from leftovers.
