Excellent gallery in the heart of Margate and a welcome alternative to the Turner Contemporary. Always has interesting contemporary artists and often group exhibitions for added interest. The current exhibition is no exception with 3 very different artists, including a very quirky German ceramist. This wonderful gallery always provides an artistic uplift. August 2024 saw an exhibition by English female artist whose works are quite sensual and maybe not suitable for children (depending on their upbringing). The works are interesting content and also fascinating for amazing colours, size and composition. Always worth visiting this amazing gallery.

A really good contemporary art gallery. My first time in Margate and had a look around all the galleries including the Tate, however the Carl Freedman Gallery is by far the best art gallery in town. We saw a very well curated exhibition called "to all the kings who have no crowns" which runs until the 3rd April 2022. The art work is of great quality and is beautifully presented, highly recommended.

Highly disappointed in Carl Freedman Gallery. After visiting the gallery, I approached a young lady behind the desk if she could direct me to the toilets to be told they are not for the public. I explained I have a disability and she told me I could use Morrisons toilets which were closed due to it being an evening event. I saw others were allowed to use the toilets apart from myself. I then unfortunately...

NOT DOG FRIENDLY. Entrance is difficult to locate, no clear signage. There are big black doors which are kept shut. Staff were coming in and out but ignored the confused visitors outside. I’m sure this is a wonderful place to visit, but it was disappointing making the effort to come here and never getting inside. Their website was not clear that dogs are not welcome - that information would have helped...
