I've given 3 stars because small changes could make a big difference. It's a pretty unprepossessing local builders cafe. The one thing I reckoned I could bank on was a decent mug of strong tea. Wrong. Impatiently served a school mug of warm milky water with a hint of decent tea. Orange juice at £1.25 for a small glass of long-life juice not cold enough to have come out of a fridge. But above all, my benchmark is bacon. I asked for 2 crispy bacon baps, one also with sausage. After 15 minutes I was presented with two soggy flowered baps lined with a vast amount of butter which predictably had left the contents swimming in slimy grease. I got through 6 serviettes and gave up. Lost my appetite. So to the changes. To the staff, smile at customers. It's free and painless. To the cook/chef, crispy means no flacid rind in sight and don't put butter inside a soft, highly absorbant bap. Saves on butter. To the teamaker, offer to leave the bag in. Again, free. Three stars instead of one because the bacon, sausage and tea would have been fine if served...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEarly era, traditional cafe. A long time favourite amongst locals. Decore is terrible, definitely vintage. Made recently famous by Pete Doherty when he sampled the gut buster brekkie. Food here is delicious, they now do cafe by day and burger restaurant by night, both are rated on their quality for sure, and they succeed too. Not tried the burgers but I've heard they are good. Prices here are slightly higher than they should be, but considering its popularity, I'd charge the same because it's quite often full anyway. Maybe the higher prices deters the riff-raff habitable in this area. As I said the food's good, and the service also commendable. Phone signal is not great here but they do have a communal WiFi for customers to use. For a better quality experience with better decore try the Rendezvous cafe down the road. Olympia cafe too is nearby for a similar experience with slightly less quality. The Dalby finds itself in the middle. Deffo worth going to, but it really does need a make over. Comfy seats would be a fabulous...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThank you so much to the Dalby Cafe for a delicious cooked breakfast. We came today at 1.30pm and greeted by Tasha and Bailey who attended to us. My mum and I both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I had a medium with beans fried slice and tea. Mum had a small with tomatoes, toast and coffee. With the addition of chips and black pudding as seperate sides. Cost came to Ā£17.90 so good value for quality over quantity. The food was cooked to perfection. We loved that oat milk was available and I had that in my tea. Bailey made sure it was the right strength of tea for me aswell. Bailey and Tasha provided excellent service, it was nice to see the improvement with them at the helm šš as this was my first return since many years ago when I had a bad experience with a member of staff at this establishment. Atmosphere was lovely, and made friendly with bailey and Tasha aswell š Highly recommend! We will definitely be back soon Thankyou once again Dave...
