Lighthouse Fish and Chips — Restaurant in Three Rivers

This was definitely the best chip shop in the past but not anymore.

I would say fairly that consistently my orders which easily at least 30 times have all been 1hr, 30mins minimum to arrive which I actually planned in advance for after getting used to it but that's fine.

Recently my food took 2 hours and 20 mins to arrive as they said they were short staffed which I believe they we're but inform customers before they buy that the wait will be that and we can decide if we want to continue the order or not.

After phoning several times as my kids were starving the manager said she'll give us 15% discount on the next order which we found quite insulting but wait for the punch line ending on this...............

The food arrived all incorrect and shabby.

The chips had no salt n vinegar on and the size was pathetic for a large portion to say the least plus they forgot the box of salad for the kebab so that got eaten dry and it was a disaster in the end. We can comfortably say we'll never order...

Edit: Nothing changed from below other than the chips. They have changed recipe since lockdown and they now have some of the most delicious chips I’ve ever had. The only problem is as the taste has skyrocketed the portions have plummeted. Sometimes they’re just about acceptable but a good few times I’ve had a ridiculously small portion. Me and my eating partner are not big eaters and usually share a small at your average chippy but even when ordering a medium, some nights you get just about enough for one. Less than half the portion size with the previous recipe so they know how good they taste. Would rather they put prices up and done a proper portion. Original review: Good options other than fish with a wide variety. Nice chicken and lamb shish kebabs. Only not a 5 star because every time I’ve ordered the lighthouse special they have either forgotten to include one of the meats or not given me any salad despite it being selected on the website. Still the best chippy around...

Disappointed by my latest visit. Until recently I had frequented the dolphin for many years, but having read good reviews I started going to the lighthouse. Up until this visit the chip portion sizes seemed fair for the price paid, however this time I ordered a large at £2.80 on the suggestion of the guy serving me and it came smaller than the medium size ordered in the past. I asked the guy "that's a large is it", I.e. hint hint, what the hell kind of portion is that?? He said yes with what seemed like a smirk and a snigger. Anyway, well done for losing a new customer with your stingy portion. Just felt ripped off. £2.80 is a lot for a portion of deep...
