So on the hottest day of the year I decided to try this place for the first time. I have come to expect it is far from guaranteed that any of the ice creams would be vegetarian but barring any of the colours at least the sorbets should be ok, or I would of been happy to try a vegan ice cream. However upon walking in and looking at the menu I could not see any labelling. So I asked the girl behind the counter who asked if she could help. This is when it all fell apart. She asked me to repeat what I said which was could you let me know which of these ice creams and sorbets between us were vegetarian? She then pointed me to a menu booklet on the counter. I opened it but again couldn't see any labelling so asked again. She then flicked through it and stopped on a page that was waffles and cookies. I said that wasn't what I wanted & given that they had marshmallow's, etc. they didn't look vegetarian to me! She then told me I'd have to wait for her to call on a colleague. A man came over and she spoke to him, he came over and asked me and whilst half way through repeating my request, he turned to answer a phone that started to ring and then shrugged at me. The girl then pointed to another lady at the back saying she may be able to help me but that lady obvious to our conversation, went through a door and disappeared. At which point I said to forget it and that I'll go to Creams Factory instead and give you a bad review. The girl then tried to get me to stop asking if I could wait 5 minutes. Seriously is my question really this difficult, in 2022? My verdict is this is an amateurish operation lacking in poor knowledge of its products and poor customer service and...
Read moreWent at 9 PM on Friday 1st April no acknowledgement on entry from the 2 members of staff behind the counter. We were asked by the guy on the shop floor complete with dustpan & brush in hand if we wanted to eat in or takeaway. He said sit over there and walked off. There was a table of 4 and 3 people on another table. We browsed through the hardback plastic-coated menus which were covered in fingerprints of all the different Sundaes, cakes, cookie dough, milkshakes etc, some had prices others did not. There are limited descriptions of the majority of the items. We weren't sure whether the guy was going to take an order or we had to go up to the counter, I went up to the counter and ordered, not a smile, hello or how you doing from the staff member. We ordered the cookie dough with one scoop of coconut ice cream (£7) and the chocolate delight crepe (£5). The cookie dough was ok, the coconut ice cream did not taste of anything and the chocolate delight crepe was crispy. All the while we were eating the member of staff was sweeping and washing the floor around us which wasn't the best atmosphere. The toilet was clean. For an establishment that has been open for only a week and has another branch that is established, I was not impressed. I had high hopes for this new eatery for Tonbridge but I do not think I will be back again and I love ice cream. I think I will stick to Creams Factory just up the road. The surroundings are purple and black but it feels clinical and...
Read moreFirst impressions are that the staff chosen to work here just aren’t naturally friendly people. Cold and awkward welcome. I’ve been here twice - first time was ok but I noticed that no staff had gloves on when putting flakes / toppings on and also one girl was dipping strawberries with no gloves on which just looked wrong. My youngest child wanted to go back today - to try another flavour ice cream, which is fine as it’s not badly priced and I wanted a coffee anyway. Firstly they had no dairy alternatives which is not good at all but as it’s just a preference of taste for me I had to get over that part - WELL- my first “coffee” came out as literally hot milk. I will you post pictures, I’ve never been one to complain but it was 100% just milk with froth on. I went to the counter and politely said I think they had forgotten to put any coffee in it - she said it was just one shot and if I wanted it stronger that’s ok.Second coffee arrived still looking absolutely vile - I actually couldn’t drink it at all, and I’m really not fussy with coffee! Really odd vibe in there - just feels weird. Kids think it’s cool so I will continue for there sake to buy a little pot of ice cream every now and then but I would much rather walk up and sit in creams. It’s such a shame! I forgot to mention I don’t know HOW but my first coffee had a small dark hair in...
