Otters — Restaurant in Torridge District

I only ate cake and it was perfect, unlike the atmosphere, the staff came across as rude, unwelcoming and hostile, there were no smiles, no warmth, no general helpful attitude, this from the older staff. The younger staff were doing the best they can working in an environment with such a bad atmosphere. If that was my child, I'd encourage them to get a job elsewhere, because the older ladies attitude wasn't much better to the young member of staff.

I love cake and honestly the cake was divine, but not divine enough to make me want to go back....unless maybe they do a takeaway service......the full English breakfast smelt good though.

I was with a few friends on a day trip when we came across this cafe When we walked in we met by a very miserable look young girl she wasn't welcoming at all and had I been on my own I would of walked out at that very moment She took our order and was not engaging at all We did try to lighten the mood but she was not wanting to even try to look like she wanted to bother talking I appreciate we all have off days but in hospitality you do have to make the effort try to put a smile on your face and be civil and unfortunately the cake matched the atmosphere it was bland and uninspiring the only saving grace for this cafe is that the young lad that came to clear the table was very pleasant but we won't...

Had had a hospital Appt & walked down 2 the Quay. Our usual cafe was closed so we tried Otters. Had been here a few years ago when I’d first moved 2 the area but hadn’t liked it at the time. I think maybe there was a change of management because we were pleasantly surprised. Our coffees arrived in no time & were very nice; Latte quite milky & Chai just right.
