The Appledore Bakery and Bread Cafe — Restaurant in Torridge District

Love this place! I come here whenever I am fortunate to catch it in the morning/afternoon. The atmosphere in the Appledore Bakery and Bread Cafe is fabulous. Beautiful decor and the perfect place to sit and write. The owners are extremely friendly and make you feel very welcome.

And the bread - delicious! You can tell a lot of care and craftmanship goes into this bread and it tastes wonderfully fresh. Very generous portions also and perfect with a pot of green tea.

I'm very happy to have found the Applefore Bakery and Bread Cafe and am looking forward to try their kombucha (which I'm a big fan of). My only complaint is that it isn't open till late - but then I suppose that's not really a negative but more of a testament to what a fabulous place it is. The Appledore Bakery and Bread Café is an absolute delight — full of character, warmth, and quality. From the moment you step inside, the vintage-inspired decor and cosy atmosphere make you feel like you’ve found something truly special.

The food is simple but at the same time unique it variety and thoughtfully made, fresh, and full of flavour. Paired with a perfectly made coffee or hot chocolate it’s the kind of place you’ll want to linger in.

The staff are friendly, welcoming, and clearly take pride in the craft. It’s rare to find somewhere that gets the details so right — from the aesthetic to the service to the food itself. Oh and not forgetting to mention WiFi that actually works..

The coffee here is absolutely delicious! My americano was one of the most delicious americanos I have ever had! We asked where we could buy the coffee beans it was that good. My husband had the smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel which was really well loaded with the above toppings. I had the hummous and olives on a bagel which was also good and well loaded but the salmon was yummier. Maybe that was how my taste buds were for today! The chocolate brownie was excellent.
