Sadly, came here today after hearing a few good reviews about the food. I’m giving the place a 1 star because the staff where friendly and the coffee wasn’t that bad. We spent £27 on “breakfast” my partner was served an eggs bennedict with one bread bun, a little garnish, 2 rashions of bacon and 2 eggs. He ordered an extra 2 sausages on the side. I ordered the signature amphora breakfast which on the menu said “baked free range eggs in amphora sauce (no idea what that is) and bechamel sauce topped with grana padano cheese with a toasted bloomer and salad ... what I was served looked like a lasagne with 2 dry eggs , it was like dish with white sauce, tomato’s and 2 random eggs, the “bloomer” was soggy and cold and the garnish was 1 tomato and cold shaven cabbage and some green salad leaves. It was pretty obvious due to our reactions when they saw the food that we weren’t impressed but they never came over to us and asked how everything was? Another pointer which is no fault to them was it was defiantly not a cafe to relax and enjoy an expensive breakfast in because it was full of very young children. Maybe we’d come on a “mums and babies” day but it would have been appreciated if there was a sign on the door. There was a delegated children’s section by the front door but wasn’t much choice of seating...
Read moreSpent an entire day in this cafe whilst my car was in the garage. You go to some cafes and it's too cold to sit and eat but this place was warm inside (just right) which was pleasantly nice as it was mid December. I made sure to bring my laptop with me and some work. Breakfast was really nice, a nice big plate and a coffee which you can't really go wrong with. The place is quite big for an independent cafe and the bathroom was decent too, far better than your average cafe. A cheese toastie for lunch followed as did a cheesecake just before I departed at 1600hrs having been there since 10am. I had a tab open and had spent around £23 in total. WiFi was great, a proper strong connection, not one of these where connection keeps dropping or the bandwidth is too small to surf the internet. Drinks and food were brought to the table and removed when I'd finished with them. Service was great and the staff were polite. There was a constant stream of people throughout the day. Whilst I was sat in there I text my wife and said that I would definitely bring her with me next time. Everything was...
Read moreLovely cafe to stop at for a coffee and a light bite to eat. It is noisy and it’s busy so if you’re looking for somewhere quiet this is not the cafe for you. It’s definitely a winner for families with young children. The menu has breakfast and lunch options and there’s also a selections of delicious looking cakes. There is a good selection for vegetarians too. I decided to have the falafel sandwich and a Cappuccino. The coffee wasn’t the best and could have done with being a bit more thick and airy to create the frothy milk foam. The falafel sandwich was lovely but my only criticism would be have a more generous layer of the hummus. The staff were friendly and chatty and greeted me with a warm welcome. There is an outside sitting area however it’s looks over at the busy road and a block of flats which would put me off stopping for refreshments on a...
