Disappointed. First time here, firstly we walked up to the counter to the girl who wasn’t serving anyone, I stood there for a bit expecting her to acknowledge my presence, which she didn’t even though she looked at me, so I started rambling off my order, she looked at me again and continued to look straight past me, me and my partner looked at each other as if to say, what’s going on here, then this customer just came in front of me and tapped her card on the machine so I assume a transaction was in process, however I didn’t know this and the girl never said “oh I’m serving someone right now” she just left me standing there wondering what the heck was going on, then I finally started placing my order, we had to go through it about 3 times and when we finally got it right she said “pheww”
We then proceeded to sit down and try to find a high chair for my little boy, I found a member of staff on the shop floor who I asked and he said “there isn’t any you’ll have to wait” I then asked how many they have as I could only see 2 other children in them, he said we got 3. And that was that. No sorry I’ll bring it when one comes Available nothing, just “you’ll have to wait” but I was more shocked at the fact it seems a busy restaurant yet there was only 3 high chairs? It’s right next to sea life centre and legoland, There was so many kids in there and we were all struggling for high chairs.
Then the food came.. chips were far too salty, the ranch dip was probably the best thing out of it all and we spent 40 pounds. Wouldn’t go again, I even said to my partner when we sat down is this meant to be like a Karen’s diner and everyone’s just intentionally rude? I genuinely thought that was the case.
Better customer service at McDonalds and that’s...
Read moreIf you're considering ordering from Archies Restaurant, let me save you the trouble and the heartache. This place takes the concept of "dining experience" and flings it into the abyss of culinary nightmares.
Delivery: Forget about timely service; Archies holds the dubious honor of having the worst delivery in Manchester and, frankly, in any city in the UK where they dare to operate. Their drivers are consistently over two hours late.
Food Quality: When your food finally arrives, if you can even call it that, it's a travesty. Soggy, dry, and cold - each dish seems to have been left languishing on a counter for hours before embarking on its journey through the cold and rain with bike delivery drivers. The lack of care in packaging is evident; the food arrives as if it's been through a food apocalypse.
Customer Service: The staff at Archies seem to have been trained in the school of "How to Alienate Customers 101." They are not just unhelpful; they're downright disrespectful. Ask for a refund after receiving such a travesty of a meal, and you'll be met with smugness that would make you think you were the one at fault.
Additional Insults: Don't expect basic amenities like ketchup or mayo - they're stingier than a miser on Christmas Eve. And forget about tissues; you’ll be wiping your hands on your shirt after this ordeal.
Archies isn't just bad; it's an affront to the very concept of food service. Customers pay for fresh, enjoyable food, not for smug behavior served with a side of cold, soggy remnants of what might have once been a meal. Avoid this place like you would a plague unless you're in the mood for a culinary catastrophe. Total fail.
Ps. Their melted cheese on top of the chips tastes like...
Read more40 pounds for 2 burgers. 5 bbq wings, 3 Nashville wings, a portion of curly fries and 2 drinks. This is good value for the portion but bad for the quality if the establishment.
The food took 35 minutes to come and there were minimal people in the restaurant, Around 3 including us.
When the food arrived the burgers are truly 5* tasty and made great.
The wings are 1* as the Fried crispy wings we bought were at both extremes of bad.
The BBQ wings were in a bbq soup that made the wings soggy and overpowering. Chugging smoky bbq would have tasted the same. The Nashville wings were crispy (yeay!) But the seasoning was Heavy, no sauce just buried in dust. Double fail.
The restaurant staff seemed very helpful. But when I went to the disabled toilets I saw there was no toilet paper and luckily I always bring some in my bag. But still poor standard.
The fries were great. The dips were great. Even the knock off irnbru was really nice.
A long wait at a quiet time, Inconsistency and haphazard standards when it comes to wings and Poor hygiene let this place down.
