Food choice was severely lacking, esp at 12.30pm for lunch. What we did choose was all meant to be full of different flavours, mostly they were bland and salads were not easy to eat with hard chunks of cabbage, etc., had jaw ache from having to chew so hard. No protein to go with their salads. No bread for their soup either. We all left hungry. The staff seemed like they couldn't cope even serving people one at a time, I'd hate to see what they'd be like when busy. There was a wide variety of food on offer and what I had was delicious. I was in a group of six and we all really enjoyed what we had to eat. However, I went to the loo before leaving and wasn't very impressed with the cleanliness of the surroundings on my way up the stairs. The carpet looked very grubby and the paint work, including the bannister, needed a good wash down. I assume, or at least hope that this level of hygiene is not reflected in the food prep area. This cafe should shout about itself more. Second visit and just as good as the first time. Everything we had was fresh and tasted home cooked. Generous portions and great value.
