The Canadian Charcoal Pit — Restaurant in Trafford

I had a burger. It was ok.... I couldn't recommend it unless you're drunk and the patties were suspiciously gristly considering it was the premium "steak" burger. I asked for salad and didn't get asked if I wanted sauce so it didn't occur to me until too late. A £7 burger would normally have some sauce in as standard? Also a strange sign saying "this is the only The Canadian Charcoal Pit in Altrincham or Sale". Technically true but there is a "Canadian Charcoal Pit" in Sale which I think is a similar standard so take your pick. In fact, the only "The Canadian Charcoal Pit" with an online website is in stalybridge and has all the same menu but at much cheaper prices (current website because you can order online to pick up) so I can't help but think this isn't part of that chain either. Very odd...

I haven’t been here for a while but called in last night and there was a young girl serving who didn’t seem that interested in her role, I placed my order of approximately £40 and all seemed good till I got back to my car to eat where I found that one of the burgers was not to my order. I went back in and explained to the girl that it was wrong and she got very confrontational with me saying it’s what I ordered and I then explained it wasn’t but she was having non of it. They changed what was wrong eventually but only added one patty to a burger rather than re cook the whole burger which was wrong and then the food was awful anyway.

I am from Arizona, but I served a Mormon mission here back in 1980 and this was the one place that had the best burgers in the world better than any that I have in America. And so literally I’ve been coming back for 43 years to this same place and same location. Their hamburgers and onion rings are second to none. And the lady that’s been serving us has been there 27 years, that’s crazy. When we bring my kids over and grandkids this is their favorite stop, we purchase takeout and then we walk across the street to the picnic tables and enjoy the best...
