Calverley Grounds Cafe — Restaurant in Tunbridge Wells

I usually love this cafe, but today I went in said hi to the guy working there and was blanked, I looked on the menu on the wall and he called over to me quiet rudely , no food after 3. I asked the girl behind the counter if we can still have drinks, she was lovely, really nice young lady. I had a lovely hot chocolate, and my friend had a coffee, as always both very good. But to be honest the man was so rude there, I'm just going to grab a meal deal from sainsbury before I go into the park from now on, he has really put me off going there. I did notice the jacket potato oven still had some potatoes in it too, but I couldn't have one? so do they get thrown away then?...

It was OK, but typically following what is becoming the norm for cash strapped councils across the UK. Spartan furniture did nothing to enhance the dingey interior and a smart uniform for the catering team would have helped the appearance. As for the food I purchased well lets not dwell on what was rather disappointing to say the least. 3 kids trying to run this place. Did order two panini’s to takeaway. 15-20 minutes later still not been done.

Spent 5 minutes watching the kids in the kitchen. No care about hygiene, truly shocking!

Ended up asking for a refund and went Sainsbury’s at entrance of park instead. I suggest everyone does the same!

Shame as could be lovely...
