Mocha Diner — Restaurant in Uttlesford

Maybe was a coincidence: I went there for the first time at the end of July with my husband. Normally I order only coffee when is the first time to check portions from other customers and decide what to do the next time. As I wait to order my coffee I observed that the place have a quorcky shape, which I personally like, but this seems to be a little problem for the staff to find the table where the food has to go to. I witnessed to a pregnant customer that noticed that the waitress couldn't find the owner of the food and kindly go to the bar and let the staff know about it. They thank her of course and went to deliver the food. Once seated, next to our table was a group of regular having breakfast, which I observed to be a generous portions. They mentioned a few times that the toasts were missing and those arrived actually once they left! Again I don't know if it was a coincidence. I'll give them the benefit...

I came to Saffron Walden having travelled down from Shropshire and went for lunch at Mocha with family on Saturday. While half my family received their meals in a timely way, 3 if us were not served at all. After having watched the others eat at the table, after about 45 minutes I went to ask. I was abruptly told by a young girl behind the counter that they hadn't even started cooking it and that it wasn't her fault as it's up to the people cooking it. No apology from her, no customer service at all. I asked for a refund. She refunded the food but not the drinks that we'd had (that we'd bought to eat with our food that hadn't arrived!). This is an absolute gem of a place, I found it whilst exploring Saffron Walden afew days ago and now I'm hooked! I had a breakfast there Saturday and a Sunday roast there Sunday.... the lovely young lady on front of house was amazing, she had a beautiful smile and was so so welcoming, the other young lady made my milkshake to total perfection, service was swift and the meals so fresh and tasty and more importantly served hot, the restaurant was beautifully clean and all menus were clear on both what all meals where and their price so no confusion, in all I'd say after many years myself working in hospitality and the restaurant business myself this establishment scored 10000/10000 for me, whatever your doing guys keep doing it...
