A purpose visit an exhibition at the Fry Gallery on a coach day excursion my time was limited to 6hrs. Literally stumbled my way into CoCo to purchase a vegetarian salad box meal.
Oh gosh what a sensational box expertly packed with amazing flavours. I am sight impaired and to be perfectly honest it comes down to guess work for the most because I can’t see any menu in focus unless it is straight in front of my eyes.
I chose the Moroccan couscous roasted vegetables with feta sensational flavours, dressing, plus a Spinach tart the latter was a meal on its own and so delicious.
The staff were very kind and friendly, worked very professionally and quickly it was very busy. My glasses white stick and instability with hidden disabilities can be a bit daunting if I’m a bit slow. The guy on the till was super too very friendly and smiley. So lovely to see a team working together and such super food.
On my next visit I hope to make time to sit down and enjoy a meal at some point. The cakes and puddings looked amazing too. Thank you to all staff in-front and back of house for the hard work that went into my box. It was very much...
Read moreThe staff in this cafe are very rude and arrogant. I visited after 2pm today with my sister when the downstairs section was half empty. After 5 minutes, we had to ask the woman who received us - who was clearly not busy and knew we were waiting - to take our order. My sister had already had her lunch and it was just me eating a main course. I asked for soup with the intention that both of us would have coffees and maybe cakes afterwards. When the soup came, it was served in a bowl clearly smaller than the surrounding tables and with tiny pieces of bread - again much smaller than on nearby plates. It was being made very obvious we were not welcome. Then one staff member behind the counter loudly complained to another colleague how I had only ordered 1 bowl of soup and no drinks! After that there was no chance of us continuing our stay. On top of this the soup was nothing special (a plain lentil broth) and seriously overpriced. £5.95 for a bowl of soup in these times is disgusting and you would expect a loaf with it for this price! Clearly the staff here live in "cou cou" land and do not deserve...
Read moreCalled in for 1st time for sourdough but unfortunately only do this Friday and Saturday. So we went upstairs for a cup of tea. Waitress was polite , friendly and efficient. Menu looked OK so decided to try something . Was pleasantly surprised. My wife had a fruit Scone with butter and Apricot Jam ( Tiptree ) which is good . Far superior to some places that use the horrible plastic portions her scone was very large and light. She said it was lovely. I had pork pie and salad which was great . Pastry was good. Salad was also good with leaves and sun blushed tomatoes and tossed in balsamic vinegar. Altogether a great place for a light bite. Would...
