What can I say? This slightly hidden secret is fantastic. The food doesn't even need too much discussion, always tasty, enough and good value. We have mostly had roasts (we keep coming back!) and it's always been great. Today, though, I want to focus on the amazing, caring service. It being mother's day (and me being less than organised for once! 😄), I contacted them by email the night before. I then phoned in the morning. They were fully booked but kindly suggested we could try calling a bit later to see. In the meantime, I got a similar lovely reply to my email. They confirmed a reservation, and then patiently and kindly answered my calls a couple of times and held it as we were delayed. That's before we even got to the service itself. It can be extremely frustrating to wait for the inner circle clique on the way too many barstools (which block access for non regulars, who are often left waving ineffectually like goldfish in a bowl) to be served before non regulars are attended to.
