This is the first review I am posting for any food outlet. I am so disappointed that I have to stay up to write this, but I am hoping that something good will come out of this, be it that this particular McDonald's outlet will take customers' concerns seriously and treat customers as if they really do matter.
On Tuesday, 10/14/2025, at 17:00 I ordered my food from McDonald's, Colorado Way, Castleford, and was advised to park and wait, and that I should get my food in the next five minutes. I waited in the car for the next 15 minutes and nothing happened. During this time, I noticed a few cars had come, parked, received their orders, and left, which left me puzzled. I tried to inquire of James, the young man who kept bringing food out, to ask where my order was, as I had been waiting for a while. James replied that the reason it might be taking longer is because I may have placed a big order. I countered, stating that I had only ordered a Happy Meal and a Big Mac meal, far smaller than the orders that were being delivered!
After sitting in the car for a few more minutes and nothing happening, I decided to go in and check if my order was ready for collection. As I walked into the store, James recognized me. I asked if I could get a refund if my food was still not ready. At this point, a lady who I presumed was the manager on duty, walked across to the till, spoke to the gentleman on the till to give me a refund, raised her head, then proceeded to point at me and say, "You can get your refund at this till," and then walked away. I was very frustrated and asked if my time had no value to her and if they had no decency to at least apologize for wasting my time. It was a monologue as I was completely ignored.
Out of frustration, I requested to put in a complaint. A lady by the name of Candy (she had her badge on with her name) walked toward the till I was at. I asked her for the name of the manager on duty, and she walked to the manager, had a chat with her, then came back and said she would not give her name, as she was not obliged to if the manager did not want to. I asked her again for the manager's name, and she declined to provide that information. I proceeded to ask her that as a restaurant, if a customer wanted to lodge a complaint and needed the name of the manager, shouldn't they provide that information? I was again ignored with Candy citing data protection concerns although she had her name on.
This has been a harrowing experience for me, as it left me wondering why a customer should be treated with such disdain. I would have been satisfied with a simple apology. We all fall short in life, but what left me so frustrated was that I had two of my children with me at the time. It almost felt like they had no interest in serving me, and they also saw no need to provide me with the most basic information on how to get my concerns addressed, at least by customer service. I was left with no option but to share my concerns on this platform; perhaps my concerns would be taken seriously and no other customer would suffer the...
Read moreWent into this restaurant last night with my disabled daughter and grandchild. On entering it looked quite nice but looks can be very deceptive!...we placed our order on the self order machine which according to my husband was a nightmare....it wasn't working as it should and we got no receipt for our order...the staff said that they have been playing up a while. Good to know! When the food finally come to which may I say took a while...we noticed it didn't seem that busy but full of constant just eat drivers with there bag's. I did notice that they were all being served first and the place looked absolute carnidge behind the counter...the food was flat cold and very dry...overcooked and nothing like it should have been. Then the absolute joke was went into the disabled toilet and it was absolutely vile! There was urine all over the floor no toilet roll pee all over the toilet seat and the sanitary bin was full to the top and overflowing.....absolutely disgraceful.....never have me and my daughter seen anything like it. I spoke to the supervisor to which she said that she checked it 15 minutes ago...we both know she didn't a sanitary bin flowing over pull the other one it's got bells on! We spent just over thirty pounds in that hovel it's a disgrace that they think it is okay to take people's money and serve utterly vile food and well the hygiene side of things I have nothing more to add. Will never go there again! Oh I took my granddaughter's burger back because it looked like it had been left on the counter overnight! Didn't take it all back as we had waited age's for it to come already....not...
