Read moreMe and the family have been long standing customers of Tanvi’s formerly known as Amaia. Last night (NYE) we dined with them for the first time since they reopened after their refurbishment to celebrate my sister’s birthday. Unfortunately we were disappointed to find they’ve changed their menu, removing some of our favourite dishes, as well as not having a good majority of dishes not available on the night which were advertised on the menu. As well as this they have started using cheaper ingredients in their curries, most notably chicken thighs instead of chicken breast, unfortunately this hasn’t been reflected in the price, in-fact they’ve increased their prices, clearly trying to claim back the cost of the refurbishment, which if I’m honest has been done on a tight budget, chairs are uncomfortable and slide around the floor. Service was slow and inattentive considering there seemed to be a lot stood around the bar area, we had to ask twice for a naan that hadn’t arrived with the mains. We also ordered a takeaway, as 2 of our family members couldn’t attend the restaurant, unfortunately most of the food ended up going in the bin.
All in all not a great experience and we will no longer be...

I came here with my husband for lunch and we were absolutely blown away. An amazing customer service by ‘Naidu’, very much appreciated. I ordered the Lamb Keema Dosa — crispy, rich, and filled with flavour. The chutneys and sambar served on the side were spot on — tangy, creamy, and comforting.
We also tried the Non-Veg Thali, and I’m not exaggerating when I say it was a full desi feast: Poppadom for crunch, Meat Samosa for that punch, Chicken curry, meat curry, prawn curry — all distinct and packed with spice, Fluffy basmati rice, soft chapatis, And to finish, the most nostalgic Gulab Jamun. And that Mango Lassi was like Icing on the cake
Every item on the thali tasted homemade — rich, honest, and made with love.
The ambience is modern yet rooted, the service warm, and the portions generous. I genuinely felt like I was back in India for a moment.
Highly recommend to anyone craving real Indian food — none of that watered-down stuff. This place does it with pride.
