Was in Cardigan bay for my birthday. So this was my birthday meal of choice. Impressive from the start. As I walked in I was greeted by a very friendly guy behind the counter. He was also very professional and I immediately, felt welcome. It has a lovely interior and the air conditioning felt 100% perfect. Collected my food after half an hour. Well, I am a connoisseur and have been eating tandoori food for 35 years, I have eaten it all over the world, and I feel Abduls deserves this in depth review.
We ordered chicken bhuna, chicken madras, sag aloo, rice and plain naan.
The currys were fragrant, aromatic and full of flavour. My madras was hot and made me sweat, like a madras should. The bhuna was mild, and full of flavour and body, the spicing was perfect, just as a bhuna should be. Rice 10/10, fluffy, free flowing grains of cooked rice. Naan 10/10, it was fluffy, tasty and I wish we ordered more. The sag aloo, possibly the best I have ever had in the Uk. The spinach had an earthy taste which indicates it was organic, and it was not overloaded with garlic as most UK curry houses do.
I fully recommend this place if you like Indian food. It is first class.
Thank you for a fantastic birthday meal guys, I will be back the next time I’m in...
Read moreFirst visit to Abduls. The Copper Pot has a function that night so we thought we'd give this Indian a go. Arrived without a reservation, we were sat quickly. Before we'd sat down askef if we wanted a chutney tray etc my partner replied and within 10 seconds this was thrown, yes like a frizby on fire it landed the right way up thankfully. I don't know if this was due to us interrupting his vape on arrival outside. I hasten to add there was no hand washing before accessing the kitchen or handling meals served! Good start i thought. Anyway the place is similar to many Indian restaurants. Pretty busy, and lots of locals were our guess. I had the vegetable dansak partner always has chicken biriani, which he enjoyed albeit not the best but we eat out in higher end restaurants.. probably would not return. The food was OK the rest let the place down. Ps we did have another server interjecting who was more...
Read moreMy partner and myself ordered a takeaway from this restaurant, they said the meal would be ready in one and a half hours it wasn't, I got there to collect and could hear customers who were seated complaining about the wait and some leaving as they had already waited two hours, when I eventually got home, we had two starters one with brown salad and one with nothing, neither had Raita Sauce which every other restaurant i have ever used comes with them, moving on we ordered Garlic Balti Chicken and Garlic Chilli Prawn, neither were baltis and the Garlic Chilli Prawn was just brown water, we ordered a Keema Naan and a Tikka Naan they sent a plain Naan and a chicken Naan plain chicken, the chips and Naans were both stone cold and considering we only live 5 minutes away i can only presume it had been sat there for a long time before they bought it out to us, absolutely disgusting we will never...
