I bought 2 kg of Mussels on Friday 9.08.2024. Cost me 18 pounds. Packed in newspaper. When I tried to clean them first I saw that there are no tags on bags. This is against low to sell without tag. Mussels were dead. Opened. Did not want to close. Have to discard them. Please see photos. We have been on holiday so I did not have time to drive back to show them but I think I should be refunded at least. You know my number…. —————————————————- No one show me mussels or tags. They were waiting for us on some ice. There were packed in newspaper when I got them. Because they smell to much I even tear newspaper and smelled. Sorry but I should return them right away as they smelled tooooo much …. When returned to holiday home i put them to the fridge. After 2 hours we have been ready to cook them. Unfortunately they were dead. Imagine our disappointment …. You have to keep healthy tag but I should have customer tag with all data about mussels. Should I buy cat in bag? Don’t think so. So then you call me back after 10 in night to talk about business? Next day in morning we have to drive back to London so no time to come to you. Mussels finished in dust bin….. You should say...

It was a thin watery broth with a bit of white fish the odd muscle and some frozen peas. £8. Not chowder by any stretch. The seafood platter was pre packaged smoked salmon mackerel and prawns. £10. A bit sliced bread on the side. It was acceptable but unimaginative and a waste of a lovely setting over looking the river. But I've saved the best till last. Lobster salad. It was pretty cooked and then served re warmed. It was tough dry and flavourless. Why even reheat for a salad. It was not reheated to safe temp anyway so just serve it cold. Avoid. Catch of the day. The gullible tourists that we were....
Read moreThis is the third time we have been here just for the crab salad! The atmosphere and owners are lovely, the food is great and there is a great view of the river too. Also, fresh fishmonger in store. His fresh fish is good value. He gives great advice about what he sells, how to cook it, etc, and will dress it if you aren't able or don't want to yourself. Dogs are welcome here. It's very wheelchair and disabled friendly with disabled parking right outside the door and a ramp to get in. Highly recommend a visit here if you are in Cardigan ♡
