I bought 2 kg of Mussels on Friday 9.08.2024. Cost me 18 pounds. Packed in newspaper. When I tried to clean them first I saw that there are no tags on bags. This is against low to sell without tag. Mussels were dead. Opened. Did not want to close. Have to discard them. Please see photos. We have been on holiday so I did not have time to drive back to show them but I think I should be refunded at least. You know my number…. —————————————————- No one show me mussels or tags. They were waiting for us on some ice. There were packed in newspaper when I got them. Because they smell to much I even tear newspaper and smelled. Sorry but I should return them right away as they smelled tooooo much …. When returned to holiday home i put them to the fridge. After 2 hours we have been ready to cook them. Unfortunately they were dead. Imagine our disappointment …. You have to keep healthy tag but I should have customer tag with all data about mussels. Should I buy cat in bag? Don’t think so. So then you call me back after 10 in night to talk about business? Next day in morning we have to drive back to London so no time to come to you. Mussels finished in dust bin….. You should say sorry and refund…

This is the third time we have been here just for the crab salad! The atmosphere and owners are lovely, the food is great and there is a great view of the river too. Also, fresh fishmonger in store. His fresh fish is good value. He gives great advice about what he sells, how to cook it, etc, and will dress it if you aren't able or don't want to yourself. Dogs are welcome here. It's very wheelchair and disabled friendly with disabled parking right outside the door and a ramp to get in. Highly recommend a visit here if you are in Cardigan ♡ Update for start of April 2025 The table and chairs in front of the windows have now been replaced with what I can only describe as makeshift booths with sofas. It is not very easy for disabled people to use these booths as the sofas are very low down and make it difficult to actually reach the table to eat the food. Can you bring back a few tables and chairs to the window views 🙏

“Mother Nature is the true artist and our job as cooks is to allow her to shine” - Marco Pierre White. This quote says it all for this wonderful gem hidden at the side of an estuary in a car park. Expertise in their choice of ingredients, skilled and respectful preparation of the freshest and highest quality ingredients. Confidence not to over complicate their dishes with fancy methods or trendy ingredients. Naked fish at its very best. The owners and staff are genuine, enthusiastic and lovely people which spills into their menu. By far the best food and experience I have had in the area in the six years of coming here and in terms of fresh lobster I can honestly say the best I have had in the UK. Thankyou so much for a memorable and lovely lunch. We had: Lobster Salad (fresh lobster caught the day before). Cheeseboard. Will try to nip in again before we leave. Thankyou Adam and Liz.

Just sort google by begative reviews to view passive aggressive replies very similar to the response below. The lobster was not to temp when served re heated dry and luke warm . The chowder is simply ot chowder. This is a disgrace but the response below is typical when you look at negative reviews. Greeted w sign at entrance mentioning 'piss' - nice. And for the record I was many years a chef. "Good god. I gave this 2 stars as the staff were nice but this is a totally misguided offering. The chowder was abmissmal. It was a thin watery broth with a bit of white fish the odd muscle and some frozen peas. £8. Not chowder by any stretch. The seafood platter was pre packaged smoked salmon mackerel and prawns. £10. A bit sliced bread on the side. It was acceptable but unimaginative and a waste of a lovely setting over looking the river. But I've saved the best till last. Lobster salad. It was pretty cooked and then served re warmed. It was tough dry and flavourless. Why even reheat for a salad. It was not reheated to safe temp anyway so just serve it cold. Avoid. Catch of the day. The gullible tourists that we were....
